THE TEENAGE YEARS
MY EXPECTATION being tall, social and outgoing, being pretty, having a nice body, carefree nights under the stars. tons of friends and being popular. going to parties, having freedom, hot guys liking me, being fashionable. getting my first kiss. having an interesting life. being happy and just having fun.
MY REALITY flat chested, awkward, shy, not very many friends. needs to wear makeup to feel even a little pretty. not a lot of nice clothes. often sad. an ássload of homework every night. anxiety. stress. no time to myself, always tired. short. no social life. very insecure. never being good enough for any guy i like. exhausted.

WHILE OTHER TEENAGERS are out with their friends, having fun and creating memories -
here i am sitting in my room on a friday evening crying until my head aches. i have no one who'll help make the crazy stories to tell to my grandchildren when they become teenagers. other teenagers meet the stereotype that "these years are the best years of your life", but i can come to the conclusion that these, are my years that are the emptiest, loneliest, and most painful.

that moment when you realize
how lonely you really are. when you don't have that person who can come over your house and bring ice cream and a movie when you're feeling sad. when you don't have a person who you can stay up until 3 am talking to about anything. when someone gives you the least bit of friendliness or affection and you become too attached and get hurt when they're with someone else. because when things go wrong and you need someone, you see that there is no one there.
