The butterfly project:
The butterfly project was something created to help and encourage self-harmers to stop cutting.
RULES:
1. When you feel like you want to cut, take a marker, pen, or sharpies and draw
a butterfly on your arm or hand.
2. Name the butterfly after a loved one, or someone that really wants you to get better.
3. You must let the butterfly fade naturally. NO scrubbing it off.
4. If you cut before the butterfly is gone, you’ve killed it. If you dont cut, it lives.
5. If you have more than one butterfly, cutting kills all of them.
6. Another person may draw them on you. These butterflies are extra special.
Take good care of them.
7. Even if you don’t cut, feel free to draw a butterfly anyways, to show your support. If you do this, name it after someone you know that cuts or is suffering right now, and tell them. It could help. Try get this to the top

W hen I was l i t t l e , me and my neighbor use to climb on a t r ee
outside her yard, and whenever there was a s t icky pa r t, we'd yell
" SAP ! " and that's what started t he sa p club.
Everyday when we would play together we would
climb the tree and have our daily "sap club"
meetings. We could do it all day.
Everyday since we used to play together, i'd always
look outside and see the "sap club" t ree and
remember the good times we had playing on it.
When I got home from school, I looked over to
where the t ree normally stands and
it was gone. It was in a bunch of little pieces and
there was a man with a saw cutting it down. I was in
tears when I saw this, because it was like a piece of
my childhood getting taken away. I was going to run
out and stop him but it was too late.
I'm so glad my
sap club neighbor isn't here anymore to see what
they were doing to our tree.
I miss you.
