I am against gay marriage. I'm a proud Christian, and I read these comments and feel sad because a lot of people who say they are Catholic or Christian are saying incredibly hurtful things. I believe they are saved and love Jesus, but guys, the Bible tells us to love everyone. "Love thy neighbor as thyself"... ring a bell? I won't spit at a gay person, but I don't think I'd slap them any hi-fives either. I'm very conservative, and this issue is personal for a lot of people. I don't believe people are "born gay". Homosexuality is a choice-- and if you like it... I mean, okay. I personally just don't support it. I would cry if my future son or daughter ever brought home someone of the same , but hey. It's where this country is heading. I will raise my children to be kind and respectful, and to have their own beliefs, but also to know God and follow him. Just my opinion. I don't hate them, but I don't agree with their actions.

I am a Christian, too. But my church teaches us that homosexuality is okay. About two years ago we amended the rules of Presbyterianism so that gay people can be ordained as elders, deacons, and pastors within the Presbyterian church. I love it because it shows that they are people just like you and me.

Although I disagree with you, I totally respect that your church is clearly different than mine. I understand where your beliefs on this issue are coming from. However, IF (and I am not wishing this upon you and saying it will happen) in the future one of your children does end up being gay, love them anyway. You don't have to love that they are gay, but support them. There is nothing worse than having your parent hate you for something that you can't control. Being gay is not easy because they constantly and unfairly bullied. They need to come home and know that someone loves them unconditionally no matter who they romantically love.

I agree with you Landon, and I think it was awesome of you to be honest and put this quote up. There are a LOT of people who agree. Some are haters, but most people will agree. I think there's this whole bandwagon thing going on where people side with freedom of sexuality or whatever, but really.. no. God made Adam and Eve. Not Adam and Steve. I don't dislike gay people, but I don't approve of their actions either. And @Mooly, there are answers to your questions. Yes, God made everyone in his image. But God did not create man to love man and women to love women. God does not make you gay either.. Homosexuality is a choice. It's not a gene or something that's carried over. Idk I think this whole topic is too far gone. People have their own opinions. Sorry, I just wanted to share mine. But I'm here as a supporter for you, Landon. And I'm sorry people are so touchy about this to wish that you kill or harm yourself. That's really sad.
