C h a p t e r 15 .
Addison's P.O.V.
I hurried off the stage, and ran over to Jos.
Everyone looked shocked, and most people were sending Alex so dirty looks.
Alex stared at me, his eyes wide.
I saw him begin making his way towards me.
"What was that Addison!?" He yelled at me.
"It was the truth and you know it!" I shot back at him.
By now we had become the center of attention.
"Maybe that's how it started out, but I love you." He said looking into my eyes.
I looked down. I couldn't look into those eyes.
"Well maybe you should have thought about that before." I whispered and began walking away.
"Fine, whatever!" He called after me. "Run home to your parents."
I glared back at him, tears now streaming down my face and I just ran.
Alex's P.O.V.
I saw Jos coming over to me.
She stood right in front of me, and slapped me straight across the face.
"What was that for!" I yelled.
"Well first of all, you used my best friend for a bet! And second of all, you may want to rethink the last thing you said to her." She said, and ran in the direction that Addison had went.
"What is she talking about?" I asked Jake.
He just shrugged his shoulders, but then Ethan came over to me.
"Her parents are dead." He mumbled.
Suddenly I realized it. I had told her to run home to her parents.
"I really screwed up didn't I..." I mumbled to myself.
I pushed through all of the people in my way, and ran out the door that they disappeared out of.
I had to make this right.

Addison's P.O.V.
The car ride to prom was actually kind of awkward.
We didn't talk much, and I think Alex knows that there's something wrong with me.
When we got to prom, we actually talked and hung out with some people.
There was a slow dance on, and Alex stood infront of me.
He reached out his arm to me. "Can I have this dance?"
I smiled. "Sure."
We calmly swayed to the rhythem, wrapped in each others arms.
I'm really going to miss this...
"Addi?" Alex whispered to me.
I didn't answer, but he continued on. "If you're worried about winning, it's fine, don't worry about it. And Addison, I love you."
That was the first time he's actually said I love you to me.
But he couldn't mean that could he?
And he couldn't mean that it doesn't matter if I lose prom queen...
Before I had time to answer, a voice boomed over the speakers.
"Can we have all of the kings and queens make their way to the stage?"
Alex smiled, and took my hand. He led me up the stairs onto the stage, and then went to his spot.
"First, we'll do the king." Our principal said.
Alex, Jake, and a kid I didn't recognize were running.
"And your king is..... Alex Woods!" Alex smiled, and went to accept his crown.
"Now time for our queen!"
I looked over to Ashley and Kate, the other canidates.
I stood nervously, awaiting my name to be called.
"Ashley Martin!"
Ashley beamed and went to receive her crown.
Alex looked at me with a reassuring smile.
How could I do this, I didn't even win. So that would mean Alex lost his bet.
Jake looked happy enough that the queen wasn't me.
I was about to walk off, when I spotted Jos in the crowd.
"Do it." She mouthed.
I knew exactly what she meant, and I shakily walked to the microphone.
I tapped it, and suddenly, all attention was on me.
"Hi... Most of you know, that I've recently started dating Alex Woods." I sighed.
"Well to be honest with you, I'd liked him for years. But who would ever picture it? Alex woods, most popular kid in school. And then me. Addison Bates. The school's loser."
I looked into the crowd, and everyone looked a bit confused, especially Alex.
"Well you see, I thought that maybe, I could have been in love with Alex. He seems perfect right? All romantic, sweet, and let's be honest, he's not bad to look at." I laughed slightly.
"But that's not the real Alex at all. Now I didn't win prom queen tonight, which doesn't really bother me. But I'm sure it bothers Alex A bit more." I looked to Alex, and panic filled his face. "Alex Woods used me. If I won prom queen, he would have won something, but if I lost, well so did he. That's right," I smirked into the crowd, looking directly at Alex.
"I was just a stupid bet."

Addison's P.O.V.
I couldn't believe it. Tonight was prom night.
Jos was over my house, helping me get ready.
She wasn't going, but she wanted me to be ready for tonight.
I had still been ignoring Alex, but it was hard.
The problem was, that I was still in love with him.
No matter how bad using me was, I couldn't let go of him.
I wanted so bad for it not to be true, just a big joke. But I knew it wasnt.
Maybe it would have been easier to embarass him in front of everyone if he didn't act like he cared about me. But he acted like I was all that mattered to him, and I didnt understand it at all. But I guess he's just a good actor.
I had actually become pretty popular recently, which I guess is expected when you're Alex Woods' girlfriend.
Everyone was really friendly towards me, except for a girl named Ashley.
I could tell she liked Alex, and she was running for prom queen against me.
My blue dress fit perfectly, and I had on a pair of matching silver heels.
It took a lot of work to get me to walk in them, but I think I may have mastered it.
Jos was doing whatever she wanted to my hair and make up.
She ended up curling my long blonde hair.
She made up my face a little, adding a light shimmering eyeshadow.
"Now don't deny it, you look fabulous!" She smiled, looking at her work.
I laughed. "Thanks Jos, you're the best." I said, pulling her into a hug.
"I know, now go! I'll see you there!" She said, pushing me out of my room.
I went into my aunt's room, and her jaw dropped.
"You're going to catch a fly." I said laughing.
She chuckled a bit. "I wish your mother could see you right now."
"She sees me. She's always looking out for me." I said.
"I know honey. Now go! I think your date is here!
I walked carefully down the stairs, so that I wouldn't fall.
As I walked into the living room, I saw Matt and Alex talking, like they always did.
Matt really liked Alex, and honestly I think Alex likes Matt.
Too bad they won't be seeing each other after tonight.
Just as I appeared, I heard Matt ask, "Do you love her?"
They both looked over at me. "I do." Alex said smiling.
I blushed, and made my way over.
"You look amazing." Alex complemented me.
"Thanks.." I mumbled looking at the ground.
I gave Matt a hug, and walked out the door to Alex's car.
We were on our way to prom.

Addison's P.O.V.
After a whole weekend of ignoring Alex, I decided to follow through with Jos's plan.
I wanted to tell him that I knew, but then I thought it was better to expose him as the jerk he is.
I walked over to his locker in the morning, like I always did.
"Hey Addi." He said smiling. "Where we you this weekend, I called and texted you a lot..."
"Oh, just busy." I lied.
"Oh, okay. Well prom is this Friday. What color dress are you wearing?" Alex said, putting his arm around me as he walked me to my classroom.
"Red so that your blood blends in with it when I stab you for using me." I joked to myself, but not loud enough for him to hear me.
"What?" He asked.
"Oh nothing!" I said laughing to myself. I ordered blue dress this weekend."
"Okay, well when you get it, send me a picture. I want to know what color my tie should be. We are going to be prom king and queen after all." He remarked happily.
"Yay." I mumbled through gritted teeth.
"It's going to make your beautiful eyes stand out." He said, looking into my eyes.
"My eyes are green though..." I sighed.
"Yeah, but they have these blue flecks in them. I imagine your dress makes them stand out."
I always knew I did have blue in my eyes, but it really wasn't that noticeable.
Hardly anyone has said anything about it to me.
What I wanted to know, was why does a guy who's using me notice that.
I mean it's not like he actually cares about me...
We reached my class and he left me saying. "I really can't wait for friday."
I smiled, this time it was actually real.
"Oh, me either!"

A bet? I was just a bet to him?
I wanted to barge in there, and make him explain himself.
Or even better, wake up from this as though it was a nightmare.
But I couldn't. I just stood there as the tears streamed down my face.
Finally, I ran down the hallways, looking for Jos through my blurred vision.
I reached her car and hopped in the passenger seat.
"Addi what's wrong?" Jos questioned when she saw the state that I was in.
I shook my head, and she got the point. I couldn't talk right now.

Jos had finally managed to clam me down.
She made me hot chocolate, and bought us a pizza.
I sighed and I looked up at her with my tear stained eyes.
"I'm just a stupid bet." I mumbled, recalling what Alex had said.
"What?" Jos asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
"I saw Alex with Ethan and Jake. I was going to say goodbye to him, because I knew that I was hanging out with you today. I heard them talking, and I'm part of some bet. Alex is dating me because of it, he doesn't even like me." I said, my voice barely a whisper.
"THAT JERK I'M GOING TO KILL HIM!" Jos yelled.
I forced a smile. "It's fine Jos, but really, what am I going to do?"
We both sat thinking for a while, when suddenly A devious smile appeared on Jos's face.
"What was the bet exactly?" She asked.
"I'm not entirely sure, but for him to win, I have to be prom queen."
"Pretend you don't know."
"What!?!"
"Pretend you don't know that he's using you. Act like everything is fine. You'll end up being prom queen, and then embarass him in front of the whole school. He's trying to make you fall for him, but don't." She told me her plan.

My name was on signs everywhere. I didn't even enter my name for prom queen!
I ran the rest of the halls until I reached Alex's locker.
"Hey!" He said, kissing me gently.
"Don't 'hey' me!" I yelled.
"Woah, Addi what's up?"
"Have you seen the posters?!?"
"Yeah, aren't they great?" He said smiling.
"No! I can't be prom queen Alex!"
He pulled me into his arms.
"It'll be fine Addison." Alex whispered into my ear.
I calmed down a bit, but then Jos came rushing over to us.
"Addi did you see all of this?!" She asked.
"Yes Jos, I did. I can't be prom queen!"
"Sure you can! I'll train you!" She said, causing Alex and I to burst into laughter.
"You're going to teach me how to be prom queen? Jos come on you're less coordinated than me!" I yelled and she laughed, she knew it was true.
At the end of the day, I was going to meet Jos outside.
I'd been really busy with Alex lately, so I hadn't had any time to hang out with her.
So we decided to have one of our sleepovers tonight.
Just as I was heading outside, I saw Jake, Ethan, and Alex in a classroom.
The door was slightly open, so I made my way over and looked in.
"Dude she is so going to be prom queen!" Jake said.
"I know, and that means I'm going to win." I heard Alex say confidently.
Win? What did he mean win?
"Yeah, but dude are you sure you don't actually like her...?" Ethan asked.
Wait, were they talking about me?

Addison's P.O.V.
Was Alex asking me to prom? "I uhh.." I mumbled.
"I'm not really into prom, but I don't know I thought it'd be fun..." Alex mumbled.
"Yeah.. I guess it would be." I sighed.
"Does that mean you'll go with me?" He asked.
"Of course I will you idiot."
After that, he decided to take me home.
We pulled into my driveway and he walked me to the door.
"Thank you so much.. for everything."
"It was nothing..." He said, looking down.
"Are you kidding? that was the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me Alex."
"Really?" He asked looking back into my eyes.
I nodded, and before I knew it, he kissed me.
I stood there in awe, as he smiled and left.
I was still standing there when Matt opened the door.
"Are you just going to stand there like an idiot, or..?" He asked smirking at me.
I gave him a glare before wandering inside.
"Why are you blushing like that?" I heard my aunt Mary call out from the couch she was on. I could tell she knew the answer from the way she was chuckling.
"She just got kissed!" Matt yelled.
"Shut up!" I said hitting him.
He just laughed. "Well it's true.
I laughed and shook my head at him before going up to my room
I called Jos, to tell jer everything. She was just as excited as me.

C h a p t e r 8 .
Addison's P.O.V.
Alex took out a blindfold. "Put it on." He instructed.
I did as I was told, and tied the cltoh around my head.
"Where are we going?" I ask as he led me out of the car and through the night air.
"What makes you think that I would put a blindfold on you, and then tell you where we're going?" He asked laughing at me.
I sighed and continued to be dragged on.
"Alright, you can take it off now."
I ripped off the blindfold and looked all around at my surroundings. There was a table lit by candlelight in a gazebo. The gazebo was raised over a lake. White Christmas lights were wrapped around the structure, and there was a single rose in a vase.
"You did all of this.. For me...?" I asked.
"Of course.. I'd do anything for you Addi."
"I love it, thanks!" I yelled as he pulled out my chair for me.
"That's not all..." He said.
As if on cue, his friend Jake came out dressed as a waiter.
He brought out chicken parmesan, grape soda, and chocolate cake, before disappearing.
"This is all my favorite foods, how'd you know?" I asked.
"I do my research." He said with a smile.
"Joselyn?" I guessed.
"Yup. But I cooked it!" He said confidently and I laughed.
The meal was delicious, and I figured we'd be going home soon.
"The night isn't over yet, there's one more surprise." He said as he layed out a blanket on the grass.
We layed down next to each other, looking at the stars.
Suddenly, I heard a loud noise and jumped.
Alex laughed. "Calm down."
Finally I realized that it had been fireworks.
"Did you set this up too?" I asked, looking up at the aray of lights in the sky.
"Yeah." He said, wrapping and arm around my shoulder.
The show was amazing. There were all different kinds of fireworks, in all different shapes sizes and colors.
I was about to thank him for everything, when I heard the explosion on more time.
I directed my vision up into the night, but this time it spelled something out.
"Prom?"

Addison's P.O.V.
I slowly walked down the stairs. What if this was too much? I never looked like this, and I didn't want to change this much for one guy. But I guess maybe I look good...
Before I enterered into the front hall, I could hear Matt talking to Alex.
"So are you Addison's boyfriend?" Matt asked.
"Yes, that would be me. And you are?" Alex said.
"Matt, her brother! And I swear if you hurt her or take her away from me I'll kill you!" Matt yelled.
I held in my laughs. Matt would always be my little brother, nothing could take that away.
"Woah calm down. I would never hurt her or take her away from you. Besides Matt I think I'd like to get to know you better sometime. You like X-box?" Alex said.
"Yes..." Matt answered slowly. He didn't just like Xbox. He had an obsession. So much that I'm the only one that will play him, and he forced meto learn everything I know.
"Well then I'll have to challenge you to Call of Duty one day." Alex said, and I could almost hear him smiling in his voice.
I came out from behind the wall laughing. "You guys are too cute." I said through laughs.
"Were you listening to us?!?" Matt asked.
"Yes, yes I was. Now Matt If you'll excuse us, I have a date." I said giving him a hug.
"Bye Addi. Bye Alex!" He called as we walked outside.
"He's great." Alex said smiling.
"Yeah, I guess he is."
Alex led me out to his car, opening the door for me and everything.
"Where are we going?" I asked him.
"That doesn't matter. You look beautiful by the way."
I blushed and looked down. "It's just some new clothes.." I mumbled
"It's a lot more than that Addie. The clothes look good, but you look gorgeous."
"Please tell me where we're going!" I said.
He laughed and rolled his eyes.
"We're almost there."

Addison's P.O.V.
"Jos!" I yelled at my best friend through the phone.
"What?" She replied.
"I'm going out with Alex tonight, like on a real date. At 7. Come help me!"
"I'll be over in a minute!"
Sure enough, Jos was over in a matter of seconds. I heard her pull in the door and I ran downstairs, opening the door.
"You're going on a real date with Alex Woods!" She yelled, hugging me.
"I know!!!!" I yelled back.
My younger brother Matt came downstairs. "What's this I hear about Addison going on a date?" He asked raising his eyebrows.
"Your sister is going out with the coolest guy in school, and he's the guy she's been crushing on forever!" Jos yelled.
"I'll have to approve of him first." Matt said before disappearing
"Now c'mon, I get to be your stylist!" Jos said, dragging me up to my room.
"Ugh what should you wear.." She mumbled to herself. She headed into my closet full of nice clothes that I never wore.
"Jos I never wear any of that." I said.
"Well there's a first for everything Addison!" She said as she looked through all of the clothes.
Finally, she pulled out an outift and made me put it on.
She had picked out a light denim shirt that had lace around the shoulders and a white tank top under it. Then a pair of black skinny jeans with gray sweater boots.
Joselyn then forced me to sit down as she started to curl my hair so that I had loose curls throughout my long blonde hair. She next applied makeup, and turned me around to my mirror to see myself.
My hair flowed over my shoulders, and she applied just enough makeup so that my features popped, but I still looked natural.
"Thank you so much! But is it too much..?" I asked.
"No you look perfect." She said smiling at her work.
"Wait what time is it?" I asked.
"7:10, you're fashionably late. Now your prince is awaiting you downstairs.
Go get him!"

C h a p t e r 6 .
Addison's P.O.V.
I heard a bunch of gasps from around the cafeteria. I looked up and sure enough everyone was staring at us. I quickly returned my gaze back to Alex's brown eyes.
"I... Uh.." I mumbled quietly. Did Alex Woods really want me or all people to be his girlfriend? "Yes." I said finally.
A lot of girls looked pretty angry, and Jake and Ethan were slapping him on the back and high fiving him. Luckily, everyone pretty much returned to their lives instead of watching Alex and I.
"You were scaring me for a minute, thought you were going to say no.." Alex said laughing.
"Sorry, I just wasn't expecting it.." I mumbled.
"And neither was I!" Jos yelled at me. "When were you planning on telling me he liked you?" She whispered. I ignored her, because honestly I thought we were just friends. But I guess I was wrong.

"Addi!" I heard Alex yell. He ran to catch up with me as I was walking away from the school at the end of the day.
"Hey." I said as he put his arm around me. "What's up?"
"Oh nothing, I was just wondering, wanna go out tonight?" He asked.
"Sure, where? And what should I wear? And When?" I asked shooting off all the questions that I thought of.
"Woah, calm down. Wear whatever you want, it's a secret, and I'll pick you up at 7. Why so worried?"
"I don't know, it's just that it's our first date..."
He burst into laughter and I looked up at him, confused.
Alex began to walk away, to the direction of his house. Then he called out,
"It's our second date!"

Alex's P.O.V.
Addison and I had been hanging out nearly everyday for over a week, and we'd been doing more actual hanging out than working on the project, but we finished it. Now I needed a new reason to be with her.
"Hey, how's the bet going?" Jake asked, coming up behind me in the hall.
"Great." I said with a simle. "She'll be prom queen before you know it. Then you and Ethan will owe me a thousand dollars and I'll get to keep my car."
"If you say so, bro." He said and walked off to his class.
The only problem, is that I think I'm falling for her. She's funny, she acts herself around me, and she's beautiful. I can be myself around her. Even if I did end up falling for her, I could still win the bet and she'd never know. It can't be that hard, can it?
Addison's P.O.V.
I felt a pair of strong arms wrap around me and spin me around.
"Guess who?" I hear the voice ask, before Alex put me down.
I laughed and hugged him. "Hi Alex."
"Sit with me at lunch today." Alex instructed before disappearing into the cafeteria.
I managed to find Joselyn and convince her to sit with me at Alex's table. Alex smiled and motioned for me to sit next to him. Jos sat acroos from me.
I heard some of the girls whisper "Ugh, who are they?" and "What are they doing here?" But most of all, I heard "Why is she with Alex?"
Alex heard one of the last whispers and yelled loud enough for everyone to hear him "This is Addison. She's my best friend who I really like, and her friend Joselyn."
I blushed and turned to him. "You didn't have to do that..." I whispered.
"Actually, I did. I want people to know how much you mean to me." He whispered.
Then he raised his voice again so everyone could hear,
"Addison, will you be my girlfriend?"

C h a p t e r 5 .
Addison's P.O.V.
"So.. What do you want to do the project on?" I asked as Alex led me up to his room.
"I don't really care, but I was thinking maybe like comparing types of cells or something.." Alex suggested.
"Seems easy enough." I mumbled.
Alex's room was relatively big, with a desk, dresser and bed. He had pictures with his friends and family all around. It seemed pretty normal. He sat down on his bed and motioned for me to sit next to him. I just rolled my eyes and sat on the floor. Alex grabbed his Biology book off his nightstand and I mentally slapped myself.
"I forgot to bring my book." I sighed.
He smiled a little and offered the seat next to him again., but this time I took it.
We worked on the project and read out of the book for a while, when suddenly he lifted my chin up with his hand and brushed back a piece of my hair. I bit my lip and met his eyes.
"You're beautiful Addi, but I don't think you realize it." He whispered.
"Uhh.. I should probably get going." I said and stood up quickly. When I was walking yo his door, I somehow managed to trip over the floor and I fell on my face. 'Why me!?' I thought to myself.
I heard him quietly chuckling. He offered me a hand and I took it.
"Look at you, it's the first date and you're already falling for me." He said giving me a wink.
If only he knew how right he was."This is not a date." I scoffed.
"Well it could be, if you want." He said.
"Whatever." I mumbled and I practically ran down the stairs and to his front door.
"Addison wait!" Alex said grabbing my arm.
"Don't I at least get a hug on the first date?" He said, giving me puppy dog eyes.
I gave in and he pulled me into a strong hug that lasted for at least a minute, yet somehow it wasn't that awkward. "Bye Alex." I said as I pulled away and went out to my car. I was about to drive away when I saw him standing in the doorway.
I rolled down me window to hear him yelling "You never agreed!"
"Never agreed to what?" I questioned.
"Is it a date yet?" He asked with a smile.
I couldn't help but laugh. I nodded my head and called out to him,
"Fine, it was a date!"

Addison's P.O.V.
Alex seemed pretty happy when I finally gave into working with him. I was going to his house soon to work on the project, and I was scared. But I decided to keep acting like I really didn't care too much about him, so I threw on a pair of black athletic shorts, and a red lifeguard sweatshirt. I did wear my long blonde hair down though, which I normally never do. I grabbed my car keys and headed downstairs.
"Chase, if Aunt Mary wants to know where I am, I'm going out!" I called to my 13 year old brother.
"Okay, where are you going?" He asked as he appeared in the room.
"To work on a project." I said plainly.
"With who?" Matt asked curiously.
"None of your business, now bye!" I said and I headed towards the door.
"Is it a guuyy?" He asked, streching out the word guy. I turned to him and rolled my eyes."Oh so it is. And does Addi like this guy?" He asked with a knowing smile on his face.
"No!" I yelled defensively.
"Okay okay! Have fun with your project." He smiled, putting air quotes around "project."
"Ugh!" I sighed and rushed out the door.
I pulled up to Alex's house, checking the address he gave me about 20 times, just to be sure. I finally got out of my car and made my way the door. I hesitated, but then slowly knocked on it. "Coming!" I heard a familiar voice yell. Alex opened the door and smiled. "Hey, come on in." I smiled slightly, but didn't answer. By the looks of it, he was the only one home. Hopefully this isn't awkward.
"So, let's get started." He said.

Addison's P.O.V.
I slowly made my way to biology and sat down in my seat. I was kind of hoping Alex wouldn't come to class today, considering he sat next to me. He was probably going to keep bugging me about working with him on the project.
Just as the bell rang, Alex strolled through the door and took his seat.
"Alright guys, you can just start working on your projects or something." Our teacher told us.
"Have you reconsidered working with me?" Alex asked me.
"It's still no, Alex." I said. I saw Jake and Ethan, his best friends, dying of laughter at Alex being turned down. "Please?" He asked.
"No, I already told you, I'm not gonna do all the work for you. And why would you want to work with me of all people?" I questioned.
"Because I don't really know you, but you seem cool. So I want to get to know you." He told me.
"Why haven't you ever wanted to get to know me before? We've had classes together before." I mumbled. Pretty much the whole class was watching our fight now.
"Please Addison? I really want to get to know you, and I promise I'll do work. If I don't put in as much work as you do in this project, then I'll tell Mr. Murphy to give you all the credit, and give me a zero." He reasoned with me.
I made the mistake of looking up into his pleading eyes. I sighedand contemplated if I should say yes or not. I mean I had liked this kid for about 5 years now. It's just a Biology project. How bad could it be?
"Fine, I'll work with you." I gave in.

"What do I do Jos?!" I exclaimed. I couldn't talk to Alex! I mean, he was Alex... I looked up and sure enough there he was, standing over me.
"Hey, Addison, right?" He asked.
"Uhhh.." I mumbled. Why was I such an idiot? I can't even say anything to the guy I've been in love with for years.
"Yea. That's Addison. I'm Joselyn." Jos told him.
He smiled. "Nice to meet you. So Addison, I know we have that biology project coming up, and I was wondering if you'd be my partner?"
I sighed. "Why so I can do all of the work and you can get the A? No thanks." I said to him. God, where did that come from? He looked a bit shocked, and didn't answer. "Oh, you're not used to getting told no? Well get used to it." I said., the tone in my voice was ice cold. His face turned bright red and he walked back to his table.
"Addison!" Jos yelled at me. "What was that for, I thought you liked him?"
"Well I do, but just because I like him, doesn't mean that I'm going to let him use me for a stupid grade." I mumbled.
Alex's P.O.V.
I walked back to my table, and I was honestly shocked. I wasn't expecting her to say no. I mean, no one says no to working with me. This was going to be a lot harder than I expected. I was going to get her to work with me, go to prom with me, and fall in love with me. Nothing was going to get in my way.
And this girl is going to fall hard.

Alex's P.O.V.
"Alex, you're taking me to the prom, right?" Ashley said to me. I was in a daze, so I didn't answer. I sighed when suddenly I felt Ashley sitting on my lap. "Alex!?" She demanded. "What?" I asked, a little irritated. Ashley was pretty much the school's sl/t. She always wanted to go out with me, but I wasn't exactly into that. "We're going to the prom together, right?" She asked and she started kissing me. I pushed her away. "Uh I don't know." I told her. She looked a bit disappointed, but hopped off my lap to go flirt with some other guys.
"Dude why'd you say you don't know? Ashley's like the hottest girl in the school!" My best friend Jake said. "I'm not really into her. Or prom." I mumbled. Jake looked at my other friend Ethan and laughed. "Dude, why? You could go with anyone and make them prom queen, we all know you're gonna be king." Ethan said.
"I don't even know if I'm going!" I yelled. "How about we make a deal." Jake said. "What is it?" I asked, with a bit more interest. "You go to prom, with the girl we choose. If you can make her prom queen, then you win." "Win what exactly? I asked. "How about $1,000 bucks." Ethan said. His parents were rich as can be. "But if I lose?" I asked. "You give me your car." Jake said with a smirk. "What? No way dude!" I shouted. My car was given to me by my parents, it was a black Camero.
"Why, you know you're going to win, everyone loves you." Ethan assured me. "Fine, but who's the girl?" I asked. "You don't get to know until you agree." Jake told me. Sighing, I shook both of their hands agreeing to the bet. "Alright now who?" I asked again. Jake and Ethan scanned the whole cafeteria, and whispered to each other. "Addison Bates." Jake said, pointing to some loser across the cafeteria.
"What?" I shouted. "That's so not fair, I don't know her, she doesn't know me! I've never even talked to her, or seen her around." "You made the bet Alex! Besides, we have art and Biology with her." Ethan told me. "Great, just great." I mumbled.
"All you have to do is get her to want to go with you, which requires her to like you. Then you have to make most of the school vote for her as queen." Jake said with a grin on his face. He'd known all along that he had a very good chance of getting my car. "Do it Alex," He continued,
"I dare you."

Addison's P.O.V.
"Addison snap out of it!" I heard my best friend Joselyn whisper. "What?" I asked, being pulled out of my thoughts. "You're staring at Alex like he's a meal and as though you haven't eaten in years."
She said laughing at me. "Shut up." I mumbled blushing.
I'm Addison. Joselyn has been my best friend since Kindergarten and now we're 17 and juniors in high school. We weren't popular at all, not that we've ever cared. I think I could be if I wanted to. I'm actually not that bad looking, I just don't try at all. I wear baggy sweatshirts and sweatpants everyday with my hair thrown into a ponytail and no makeup at all. I have long blonde hair and green eyes.
My closet is full of expensive clothes that I never wear. I live with my 13 year old brother and my aunt, who happens to be rich. My parents passed away when I was about 10 years old.
Needless to say, I've never wanted to stand out in the crowd. I don't want to be one of those fake popular girls with fake friends. I want people to like me for me.
Now Alex Woods on the other hand, is the most popular guy in my grade, and the school for that matter.
I've had the biggest crush on him since like 6th grade, even though he would never look at me, let alone talk to me.Alex has dark brown hair and eyes. He's the star quarterback on the football team too.
We were in the lunch room right now. I was sitting on one side of the cafeteria with Jos, and Alex was on the other with all of his friends and the girls that drooled over him. "Addison!" Joselyn whispered harshly in my ear again.
"Alex is coming over here!"

I could not believe it. Today was the day my life would change forever. My best friend Lilly and Kendal were kelping me lace up the back of my gorgeous white gown. My hair flowed behind me in loose curls. "You're ready Aubree." Lilly said giving me a smile. "I'm so nervous.." I said quietly.
Just then Aiden came into the room in his suit and blue tie. "Aubs you look amazing.." He told me. "Thanks" I mumbled. "Mason's ready." He said, and disappeared out of the room. "Come on Aubree!" Lilly insisted, and her and Kendal dragged me out of the room.
I was shaking a bit as I followed Kendal in her blue flowered dress down the beach. Lilly followed me in a short blue dress. I looked at all the people watching me and forced a smile. Then I saw Mason waiting for me, along with Max and Aiden behind him.
"You look gorgeous." Mason whispered as I made it to him. " I didn't answer, just looked up into his eyes. Today I would be marrying Mason. I would become Aubree Foxx. Just three years ago I had met him, and we decided to hold the wedding on the beach where we met. Lilly was my bridesmaid, and Aiden's girlfriend. He finally lost his feelings towards me so that we were just friends. Aiden and Max were Mason's groomsmen. Max was now 16, and the older he got, the more he looked like Mason. Kendal was the flower girl, and she was 10 now.
I could hear the priest rambling on and on with the vows, but I was too trapped in my thoughts to really listen. I heard Mason happily agree to the vows, snapping me into reality. "And do you, Aubree Johnson, take Mason Foxx to be your husband?" The priest said. I looked out at Mason's family and all of our friends in the crowd. I smiled a bit, recalling memories from these past years. This boy really showed me what love was.
"I do."

Aubree's Point of View
The doctor gave us all a weird look as we walked toward him, as if to say 'How many of you are there?' but we all ignored it. My thoughts were racing. This was the moment that I would find out whether my boyfriend would live, or if he already died.
"Please, follow me." The doctor instructed and we were led down to a closed door. Why couldn't he just tell us already? "Only one of you may go in at a time." He said. "Are you ever going to tell us if he's okay or not?!" I yelled at him. He gave me a look, and I walked into the door.
Mason's eyes were closed. A couple of tears streamed down my face when I saw his chest slowly rising up and down. I went over next to him and sat down. I grabbed his hand. "Mason?" I whispered. "Bree..." He said weakly, opening his eyes.
Tears of joy streamed down my face. Apparently the rest of the family and Aiden didn't care what the doctor said, because they came pouring into the room. Everyone took turns embracing him and most of them had tears of joy in their eyes. Even Aiden was smiling.
The doctor returned into the room. "Mason should be fine. He can come back for check ups just to make sure that the cancer doesn't return, but it shouldn't. Kid, you're a lucky one." He finished and disappeared out of the room.
We signed Mason out and got a wheelchair to bring him home in. "I'm so glad you're okay, you scared me so bad." I whispered to him. "Sorry, it's not like I planned on getting cancer." He said sarcastically, laughing a bit. "I can't believe you're laughing right now." I said, smiling a bit myself. "Why? I'm fine and everything is going to be okay," He said,
"Besides, I would never leave you."
