I was at the park today.
There was a little girl who was maybe six or seven.
Her arms were traced with scars and her hair was nonexistent.
She sat alone at the sandbox in the shade tracing the seams on a stuffed bear in her hands.
A few little boys decided to go tease her.
They ran around her screaming things about her having no hair.
Her mother was no where to be found.
I approached her and held out my hand.
She looked at me dumbfounded.
"Come with me." I say gently.
The little boys had stopped and were now watching us.
She took my hand and I led her over to the edge of the park where wild flowers grow.
I pulled a purple one from the ground and placed it behind her ear.
"You look beautiful. Don't listen to them."
She then said, "How can I be beautiful? Look at me."
"I'm looking at you, you are beautiful. I promise."
She picked a pink flower and placed it behind my ear.
"You're beautiful too."

This weekend..
my boyfriend took me to a one direction concert. He is so f.ucking amazing. He kissed me and picked me up from my house. I asked where we were going but he told me it was a surprise. So we drove about 30 miles to the arena where they were preforming, and he gave me the tickets. I screamed and jumped up and down and told him i love him soo much. We had front row seats and we got vip passes. The concert was amazing! After it ended, we got to meet Harry, Louis, Liam, Niall and Zayn. I gave them all hugs and said i was so excited to meet them. Then zayn looked at my boyfriend and said,
"You better take good care of this girl, or i might just have to take your place." He laughed and I was freaking out inside. ZAYN MALIK just said he would take my boyfriend's place!! OMG. Then my Harry looked at me and said,
"Wake up. You'll be late for school. Wake up!"
...thanks for ruining my dream, mom...

True story; (worth the read)
Today when I was waiting in line at the store with my Mom, a little girl pointed at me and whispered to her mom, "What are those scars from on her? And why doesn't she have as much hair as I do? What's that thing on her head?"
The mom turned to her and said "Sophie, that girl is probably one of the strongest people you will meet. She has a disease and to cure it she has to take a form of medicine that makes her hair fall out. She's no different than me, or you. She's probably been through much more than she deserves. And.."
The little girl stopped her from talking and ran over to me.
She handed me a chocolate bar and said "I'm sorry you had to go through this."
She took off my bandana and she said "Walk around like that. You're much prettier." Then she smiled and hugged me. I hugged her back with tears in my eyes and thanked her.
Then she walked away.
I can't stop crying. There are still good people in the world.
