F i n d i n g M e
Chapter 9
"Come on, lets get inside." Sam smiled down at me.
"Okay." I sighed.
He opened the door and let me walk in.
"C-can I take a shower?" I asked.
I had makeup streaming down my face, and my hair was all stuck to my face.
"Sure, up the staires, second door on your right. I'll leave some clothes outside." He said softly.
I nodded and walked upstaires.
I quickly found the bathroom and climbled in, switching on the hot water.
I instantly started crying again.
I just cried and cried, because no one could see me.
I wiped all the smeared makeup off my face, just stood there, shaking from my sobbing.
I looked around the room and saw items like a toothbrush, and a hair comb.
I wonder if it's Kale's stuff.
Stop thinking about him!
He broke my heart.
I sat down in the shower and pulled my knees up to my chest.
I stayed like that for about 10 minutes, until I realised Sam was waiting for me.
I climbed out, wrapped a towel round me, and unlocked the door, so I could grab the clothes.
I pulled on some sweatpants and a hoodie.
I brushed my hair through with the comb, but just left it wet - there was no hairdryer.
I crept down the staires, but stopped half way.
There were like 4 people from school sitting down there!
All seniors.
Sam must've invited them over.
I couldn't go down the staires.
I rememebered when Kale climbed across the tree yesterday, so I tried to find his room.
I stepped into what I knew was his bedroom, and found the window.
But I stopped suddenly.
On his window seat was a note book.
The one he wrote notes on and taped to his window, accept there were dozens of messages that I'd never seen before.
I picked up a few and scanned them.
'Belle' The first one read, 'You're so beautiful, as soon as I saw you, I had to look away so that I didn't get caught staring.'
I felt tears prickling my eyes.
I read another one, 'Morning Belle. I hope you slept okay. I saw you eating some toast on your window seat today. You didn't see me. So I wrote a song for you, while I watched you eat.'
I looked around, confused.
Then I saw a guitar leaning against his wardrobes.
I smiled.
Maybe he did like me...
No. He has a girlfriend. He's an idiot who I couldn't trust.
I left the room, not wanting to be in there any longer.
Besides, I couldn't leave Sam's house like that when he'd been nice enough to let me stay.
I trudged down the staires, dreading this.
I could feel all eyes on me, and I blushed.
"Who's this hottie, Sam?" One guy asked.
"This is Bellamie, and back off guys." Sam warned, but laughed.
"What are they all doing here?" I hissed at him.
"They asked to come over, only 3 more days of summer." He sighed.
"Oh, okay." I didn't want to be a bother, seeing as he'd been nice to me.
"I'll introduce you to some guys." He smiled.
"Here's Paul, I think you know him from the party. And here's Joe, football star. This is Ben, smart as hell but a true partier. And this is Danny, he's a runner - track superstar." He teased.
"Hey." I smiled at all of them.
They didn't seem to care about my wet hair or baggy clothing, so I was all good.
"So where are you from? That is an incredibly cute accent you got there." Joe smiled.
"London, England." I said, embarrassed.
"Nice." Ben said appreciativley.
"So, what brings you to Sam's place today?" Danny asked.
"I um... live next door." I didn't want to mention the whole 'Kale' incident.
"If you live next door then why shower at his place?" Paul raised his eyebrows.
Uh-oh.
"Chill out guys, we were at the arcade and then came back here." Sam laughed.
"So why aren't you with Kale today?" Paul asked.
I felt my face go pale, as I looked down. "With his girlfriend..." I mumbled.
"Jessica? Uh, she's so annoying." Ben complained.
"Yeah, why is Kale even with her?" Danny laughed.
"Cos she's hot bro." Joe winked.
I laughed, they were funny.
There was a spare seat next to Danny, so I sat myself next to him, and he didn't seem to mind.
All the guys wanted to watch the football match, and they were all yelling at the screen.
Boys. I just sat back, and laughed at their reactions the whole way through.
Half way through the game though, Danny put his arm around me.
I looked at him, and he smiled down at me, so I blushed and smiled back.
I looked over at Sam, who winked at me, seeing me and Danny.
I leaned against Danny - I hadn't realised how much today had drained me.
We carried on watching the game, even though I'd never watched it before, so had no clue what was going on.

An hour later, and I got up to make the guys some pizza.
I shoved it in the oven, and got everyone drinks.
"You can come round more often." Sam winked, while I handed them all the beverages.
"Don't get used to it." I giggled.
The oven dinged, so I grabbed the pizza and put it on the coffee table in the living room, so everyone could help themselves.
It must've been about 7:30 now.
We were all laughing and goofing around, when we heard the door slam open.
We all looked at each other, as we waited for the person to come into the lving room.
I sat back down next to Danny as he slung his arm round me again, smiling.
I then looked up at the door to see Kale.
A very, very angry Kale.
Looking right at me, and the arm that was around me.
