    True story; (worth the read)
Today when I was waiting in line at the store with my Mom, a little girl pointed at me and whispered to her mom, "What are those scars from on her? And why doesn't she have as much hair as I do? What's that thing on her head?"
The mom turned to her and said "Sophie, that girl is probably one of the strongest people you will meet. She has a disease and to cure it she has to take a form of medicine that makes her hair fall out. She's no different than me, or you. She's probably been through much more than she deserves. And.."
The little girl stopped her from talking and ran over to me.
She handed me a chocolate bar and said "I'm sorry you had to go through this."
She took off my bandana and she said "Walk around like that. You're much prettier." Then she smiled and hugged me. I hugged her back with tears in my eyes and thanked her.
    Then she walked away.
I can't stop crying. There are still good people in the world.

    'I hate my mother'
    long but worth reading.
My mom only had one eye, I hated her...
    she was such an embarrassment.
    She cooked for students and
    teachers to support the family.
There was this one day during
    elementary school where my mom
came to say Hello to me.
I was so embarrassed. How could
    she do this to me?
I ignored her, threw her a hateful
    look and ran out.
The next day at school one of my class mates
said "EEEE, your mom only has one eye!"
I wanted to bury myself. I also wanted my
    mom to just disappear.
SO i confronted her that day and said, "If
you're only gonna make me a laughing stock,
then why don't you just die?!!!"
    My mom did not respond...
I didn't even stop to think for a second
about what i had said, because
    I was full of anger.
I was oblivious to her feelings,
I wanted out of that house, and have
    nothing to do with her.
So i studied real hard, got a chance to go
    to Singapore to study.
Then. i got married. I bought a house of my
own. I had kids of my own.
I was happy with my life, my
    kids and the comfort.
Then one day, my mother came to visit me.
She hadn't seen me in years and she didn't
    even meet her grandchildren.
When she stood by the door, my children
laughed at her, and i yelled at her
    for coming over uninvited.
I screamed at her, "How dare you come to my
    house and scare my children!"
    "Get out of here now!!!"
And to this, my mother quietly answered
"Oh, im so sorry. I may have gotten the
    wrong address." and she
    disappeared out of sight.
One day, a letter regarding a school
reunion came to my house in Singapore.
So i lied to my wife that i was going on
a business trip. After that reunion, i went to
the old shack which was my childhood home
    just out of curiosity.
    My neighbours said that
    she had passed away.
I did not shed a single tear.
They handed me a letter that she had
wanted me two have, it read:
    My dearest son,
I think of you all of the time, I'm sorry that
i came to Singapore and scared your children
I was so glad when I heard you are
    coming for the reunion.
But i may not even be able to
get out of bed to see you.
    I'm sorry i was a constant embarrassment
to you when you were growing up.
You see... when you were very little you got
into an accident, and lost your eye.
As a mother, i couldn't stand watching you
having to grow up with one eye.
    So i gave you mine.
I was so proud of my son who was seeing
a whole new world for me, in my place,
    with that eye.
    With my love to you.
    Your mother ♥

Ok so aparently according to the Police Department in my town it is OK for a parent to beat their child until he/she is bruised and bloody. The parent won't get arrested, fined, or even a verbal warning. Instead, they will tell the beaten child "It is ok for your dad to beat you, it is actually a good thing, it diciplines you, teaches you how to be strong and take a hit." They said exactly that to my friend when his father beat him. I think it is totally wrong that they won't do anything and they tell abused kids that it is OK for their parent to abuse them, and unless the abused kid is in the hospital or has a broken bone, they won't do anything about it.
THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE, IT IS WRONG.
FAV if you agree and support me.
I'm trying to get a petition going against the Police Department in my town to change this issue.
