This happened to me before.
Try to warm up to him, show him that you don't hate him, but don't lead him on. Your friends should understand that if you like him and he likes you, then you should be able to be together. They shouldn't decide how you feel. reply

If he is taken just be a good friend to the guy and the girl in the relationship. Since you obviously really care for the guy always be there for him, and everything will fall into place. reply
