No, there isn't supposed to be *than*. It's supposed to be *then*, referring to the fact cuddling BEFORE , not the fact cuddling INSTEAD of . Like i said, if you're good with grammar, you'll understand it.

"Than" means introducing the second element in a comparison. Cuddling, not .
"Then" means After that; next; afterward. Cuddling, then having after cuddling.
