Think of this, say you're drowning and someone pulls you up, and you can finally breathe again. That's what it feels like to cut, all the emotions built up inside of you are let out and released that way. You get this numb feeling where you forgot all your troubles for a little while. I would know.. and basically when you're so used to being let down and feeling like it's hard to believe anything anymore.
Also, you want help, but no one can save you, the only person that can truely save you is yourself.
Also, when you self-harm, it's not always that yu want to die, you just don't want to feel pain anymore, so you replace your mental pain, with physical.
that's the best I can describe it.. reply

Well, This is just from my point of view, but cutting helps relieve the emotional pain going on in your life. It sort of releases some of the pain and stuff. Death? It's nice. It takes you away from the h3ll you live in. Life is hard, death? Peaceful. No more drama, or rumors, or bullies. No more rejection. No more not feeling good enough. No more negativity. Usually ones that attempt or actually commit suicide are really nice, hide their true feelings and intentions and never do anything selfish. Well, that's how it is for me. Suicide is the only selfish thing I've tried. reply

Not to get all technical, but depression is literally a disease. It has to do with chemicals and your brain (at least I think)
Being depressed... It's just like living in an endless pit, lost. Something in you (or at least in me) almost whispers to me... I believe everything will be perfect in the Afterlife.
I can't say anything about cutting - I never have. But once you start, I've heard, it's hard to stop. Self-harm becomes a monster, a beast inside you, and it takes control of your life. reply
