I run cross-country for my high school, and my team means soooo much to me, I absolutly love them all, even the annoying ones... x) We're the biggest bunch of bagel-obsessed misfits you'll ever meet and I wouldn't have it any other way. <3

I could have misheard them,
this much is true,
but I think there's a chance -
however tiny it might be -
that he'll ask me to homecoming.
Which leaves me conflicted,
because I really like another guy.

I didn't have the greatest day today.
I overslept, I couldn't find anything to wear, I forgot my homework, and naturally that mean annoying girl in half my classes just wouldn't shut up.
So yeah, not fun.
But later I was walking through the hallway, and my awesome friend Ellen gives me the biggest smile and says "Hey Liv, you look *great* today!"
She's the best; it really turned my whole day around!

Today was my first cross country meet.
I'm still a little sick, but I decided to go anyway.
I was running my 5k, and I didn't feel great.
I was at the 2-mile mark and I was just beginning to think
"This sucks, I'm so behind, I can't even breathe through my nose, I should just give up..."
It was quiet, Then I hear a voice say,
"C'mon Olivia, you can do this. I mean it! Olivia, look at me, I'm serious, you're doing *great*, just keep going!"
I look over to see a guy I rarely talk to, alone, entusiastically cheering me on.
ANd you know what? I wasn't discouraged anymore.
Silly as it might sound, just to know that someone believed in me that much really helped.
In fact, I sped up enough to pass quite a few people, and earn a ribbon in the end.
Actually, it was my best 5K time ever!
As finish my last mile and am about to turn into the finish, he's standing there again,
"You got this, you're doing amazing, go!"
I finish my race and get my ribbon, but the next thing I do Is go over to my team's tent and give this guy a hug, because he completely deserved it!
today I learned a few things...
• I am a better runner than I believe I am.
• I really love my cross country team.
Like, so much.
• And last but not least...
People can really surprise you.

Plot Twist: Cross country gets as good of uniforms as all the other sports.
Tomorrow's our pep rally, and all the other teams are wearing their uniforms, or their jackets that have their last name on the back. We're not allowed to wear our uniforms, and we definitly don't have those same nice jackets. So we get white t-shirts and put our last names on the back in fabric paint, spread out in the middle of the locker room. So as I paint my last letter I look up and say "You know what guys?
This is pretty ghetto. Just sayin'."

What color is his hair? Blonde.
What style is it: Short. Just normal, really. A little messy.
What color eyes: Blue.

"You okay?" he says, sitting down next to me.
"Not really." I answer. a little meanly, a little sarcastically.
"Who is this guy, anyway?" he asks.
I Nod in they guy I was currently upset over's direction.
"Is he taller than me?" he askes, forever self concious about his height.
"I don't know. Yes? Who cares?!" I say, annoyed.
"He is? Well Darn... Still... I'll be right back," he says, starting to stand up.
"No, stay here!" I whine, grabbing his shoulder. I just didn't want to be by myself.
"Nope! He says, brushing off my hand, "I'm gonna beat him up," he says, punching his opposite hand.
"Oh please!" I laugh for the first time all day.
I smile, a real, geniune smile, and he smiles back.
"Alllriightt," he says in mock disapointment, but if he says one more word to you..." he goofily raises one eyebrow, setting me up to protest again.
"Okay," i agree, and it occured to me that I'd stopped crying.
And just then, I realized... the guy who was right in front of me the whole time?
Maybe, just maybe, he's really something specail.

He's been on chat for hours...
of course, it's likely he just left his computer with his Facebook open.
But we've been tagged in so many pictures together, he's the first one on my chat list. I'm probably first on his, too.
It makes me wonder if maybe, just maybe, he's staring at the little green dot next to my name, the same way I am, wanting to talk to me just as much as I want to talk to him.
Probably not. Still, I'll never know, now will I?

because I want nothing more than to talk to him.
Then typing something,
but backspacing, because it sounded dumb,
