the worst part started last year. 7th grade. I already have ADD and little backstory, with my ADD being really bad, i had to try a lot of medications. all of which had side effects almost worse than the actual problems. some even gave me tick disorders that I still have now (such as i nod my head, and widen my eyes. It is really annoying) anyhoo, so my grades suck, my social skills are pretty bad, and I have annoying tick disorders. With all of these annoying things happening, that sometimes when I got nervous or such, i would put my hands in my hair and pull it out. (this sometimes happened, not as regularly in the secong, third forth grade and so but it started getting a lot worse in the 7th grade) but soon, it started developing into a regular habit and even got so bad that sometimes i would justy sit in my room, hours on end, just zoned out with my hand in my hair pulling it out. i was horrible. my self confidence plummeted and would even lay in my bed and just cry becase I hated myself so much for what I have done to myself. I would even do it in class, which just made my grades worse. I mean, my grades were already pretty bad, but not like this. I started gettting D's and F's and I felt like a freak, ugly and an idiot. Everyone started noticing. even my teachers. I even started finding bald spots in my har and I had to cut my hair short (not completely short, but I had hair to about my boobs, which is pretty long for me and I had to cut it to my chin, which is pretty hard for me cause I loved having long hair) I had to cut it mostly because I had a breakdown because I hated having awkward layers and bald spots. Finally my teacher reccomended me to a few counselors (but I never got to go to counseling because none of the counseling offices called us back) but i had a whole summer to calm down and not i rarely pull my hair out now which is really good for me:)

It's good that you've gotten better....also my mom does the same. It's a bad habit and just try to find something else to occupy yourself. Also about your self-esteem....I want you to find 5 things you like about yourself and tell me those 5 things once you do. You're really pretty and. Have no idea why you don't think so. Also it's normal to get bad grades when you're super stressed so listen to music, read books, do whatever you can to try and calm down. Another thing is exercise....it lets out negative energy so if you exercise in the morning you'll be able to focus a bit more. Also about the nodding your head and widening your eyes....I do the same. It's not too bad don't worry...just If you don't like it then make yourself aware of when you're doing it so you can reduce how much you do that. If you need anymore help just ask
