*Wishes*
Chapter Five - A Rose For You
"Alice, I'm giving you this rose... because someone else couldn't do it himself," Mattia said.
"S-someone else?" I asked, confused.
I heard breathing behind him, and, in answer to my question, that 'someone else' stepped out of the shadows and into the faint light of the moon.
"Leo," I whispered to the guy I had had a crush on for months.
He smiled as Mattia silently walked into the shadows, leaving us alone. I looked down at the rose in my hands, gently fingering the soft petals. Was this all a dream?
"I love you, Alice," he whispered, pushing a lock of hair behind my ear. I looked up at him.
"I love you, too," I replied, gaping at him. "I have for a long time."
"I'm sorry it took so long to work up the nerve to do this."
"Wait, you actually noticed?" I exclaimed, my mouth opening further.
"Yes, I'm sorry," Leo repeated. And, as if the day could get any better, he lifted my chin with one rough finger and kissed me. I kissed him back just as passionately. After what seemed like hours, he pulled away. By this point, my hands were wrapped around his neck and his on my waist. He just stared into my eyes, and I stared back into his brown ones.
But something in the sky caught my eye - a flash of light amongst the stars. I looked away from Leo for a moment to see what it was.
"A shooting star," I told him, pointing it out. "Make a wish."
"I don't need a wish," he said, smiling. "Everything I could ever ask for is in my arms."
Well, I suppose this isn't going to be an interactive story after all, since nobody's really reading it... So please favorite/comment if you are reading to encourage me to keep writing. I'm going to finish it either way, though, because it's good practice for me as a writer.
You don't need 11:11, clovers, or shooting stars;
You're perfect just the way you are.
