Chapter 3
Part 1
Addison is in pain. There is no other feeling inside her limp body, it is writhing of its own accord. Her mind is completely aware, however, so she can see everything that her brother is doing. He is staring at a screen, his eyebrows furrowed. Addison wonders why, but although she is aware of her surroundings, she can't remember a single thing. Until she sees her brother's face. The fright on his face is plain and reminds her of something that happened years ago. The most horrifying moment in her history. Her body slowly comes to a rest, no longer writhing in pain and she knows that the torture has stopped. Her memories come flooding back to her.
*Flashback*
Addison was bored. She had already finished her breakfast and had settled in the living room to read. People said that it wasn't fashionable to read actual books anymore, and they were too expensive now because of the loss of most trees that were used to create the paper in the books. But books were her sole companion. No one else quite understood her vibrant personality, which was remarkably developed for a seven-year-old. Her parents were still eating breakfast and chatting about work, and her lazy brother was still in bed. Suddenly, all was silent. Her parents had stopped talking. Feeling that something was fishy, she went over to the kitchen. The weird arm in the middle of the kitchen was acting possessed! Addison had never liked the gadget in the first place, and now she had a valid reason not to. The arm was strangling her mother! Her father lay in the corner, eyes glazed and looking at nothing. Stifling a cry, she turned her head sideways. She saw Alex in the other doorway, looking as frightened as Addison felt. She wanted desperately to save her mother from the evil arm, but she saw a huge, brawny man, with astonishingly breathtaking features that reminded her immediately of Alex and she knew that he was one of 'them'.
Bleh.... I divided it into parts since witty didnt let me post the entire thing >;c
