    Her veins like winter frost
    are so visible through her pale, white skin
    And like a vampire her kisses taste
    of frost
    I am unclear as to whether
    her love is of
    the same nature
    She’s a cold-hearted killer
    and I’m just losing blood.

    Believe it or not, there was once a time when I was wary of sucking the blood from your lips. It was so long ago, before I totally lost myself to them. I remember back when I first saw your mouth, it shone a brighter scarlet than any of the flamboyant cardinals fluttering outside of my window. The intensity of your gums burned my brown eyes so awfully that they turned the darkest shade of midnight. I know that should have turned me away, but I was hypnotized in a nanosecond. The only issue was that I feared I may drain too much from your veins and accidently leave you gasping for air. I had plummeted too far in love with you to allow that to happen.
    But soon I came to learn that you liked the way your formerly white teeth stained crimson, and how your skin lost it’s pigment entirely. And I was more than honored that I had that effect on you. Upon the onset of your approval I grew far too comfortable, and before I could stop myself, I was so addicted to your body’s vital fluid that I couldn't even stomach solid food anymore. I'm afraid that all of my self control vanished when your olivine eyes began to glow a glossy silver hue. The palms of your hands could’ve been mistaken for ice and you often told me that your bones felt uneasy, like static. But regardless of any negative circumstances, you assured me that you adored the way you could feel me suckling on your ribcage, despite the fact that my lips were thoroughly attached to yours.
    It all spiraled up to the night that I nearly extracted all of your blood until everywhere from your heart to your calves had been run dry. I can recall the terrified expression in your eyes so vividly that it’s as if I’m experiencing it all over again. That day, I was forced to cut the rope binding my teeth to your tongue, and shatter every last one of my bad habits. I realized that I had taken over your body until neither of us could identify ourselves anymore, and that was highly detrimental.

    will someone please explain to me why
    vampires don't have AIDS?
    I seriously don't understand this.
    I know they're dead and all but seriously
    they suck everyone's blood
    they're bound to suck someone's blood that has AIDS or is HIV+
    So why aren't they infected?
    Someone please explain this concept to me.

    In the tone of a delusional, teenaged girl with the tone of a kind of frustration and delight and shock and bliss after reading a good, sad book. (The Kite Runner, anyone?)
    Okay so, it's obvious I've lost my ability to concoct one of those (possibly feigned) meaningful spiels (did I really think they'd satisfy my royal annoyance of the current state of the universe? oh sh*t) that I always tried to put together but never really quite achieved the right degree of personal satisfaction or bring an edge of common sense. (What's the point in reading if there is NO point in it? I murdered the English language!) I just wish I could find the key to the door that hides the remedy to my poisonous language skills. Because oh, my god, everything has structure and you just can't miss the basics. The basics! It's frustrating because I read a lot and sometimes wish I could write like them. It's not that I want to write a book, I just want to put words together in a way that would finally satisfy me so I can peacefully release my bat wings and sputter glitter and reunite with my definitely-not-vampires family. (Yes, this is called 'lecturing myself.' And I can't stand vampires. Seriously.)
    I don't really know, maybe my brain unhinged itself from speaking and feeling fluently as should a human but lately, the things I have been saying is only ever left to becoming disconnected and unconveyed to the point it is not worth a thought. This makes no sense. Am I thinking too much, thinking too little? I make no sense. But that's okay, all is okay with me. This is no rant in particular and definitely nothing beneficial or whatsoever to anyone or anything and I cannot guarantee that things I say are filtered and inoffensive (please worry, I'm not just talking about swearing, even though my vocabulary downright sucks), if you've read this far, please, know that I've already warned you.
    Sometimes I feel so violated when a book convincingly convolute my morals and beliefs. It's like I have to remind myself with force of what I should believe and this is just a work of fiction. But fiction, albeit unreal, still has its effect. "Made-up stories matter for precisely the same reason that anything matters: because we decide they matter, because we imbue them with meaning." (John Green, in an answer to a question on his Author's Note)Can I just say I love everything he writes? Frankly, I'd read his grocery list.

    The Daywalker
    Prologue
    I run through the woods as fast as I can. Feeling the wind hit my face and the ground beneath my feet brings such a rush to me.
    I can finally see the lake I've been going to for years. I skid to a stop right in front of the water. The Lake.
    This lake is where everthing started. This is where that damned vampire bit me. I'm not a normal vampire, I'm...special.
    I can't be killed with a wooden stake, garlic, silver, and I can stay out in the brightest sunlight. Like any of that matters anyway, vampires these days are upgraded. I do have one weakness though: the thirst for blood.
    I am the Daywalker.

    Blood Bond
    ::Chapter One::
    ::Part Two::
    I grabbed a towel and started wiping off the blood. The van lurched forward as Devin hit the gas.
    "You missed a spot," I said to Juliet, "Right here." I leaned in kissed the spot of blood right in front of her ear.
    "Onyx," she whispered in my ear. I pulled back, the blood spot gone. Juliet had this longing in her eyes, but it was still too public. It was a borderline gesture. It could be taken sexually, or just as a vampire trying to get the last bit of blood.
    "Sorry," I muttered. I drew back and stuck my hand into my pocket. I pulled out a small, metal star. I turned it over in my hands and played with it the rest of the ride back. When the van came to a stop, I slid it back into my pocket. Juliet took my hand and we climbed out. I watched on the curb as Devin and Bruce unloaded the bodies into a black metal box.
    "G'night you two. Play it safe," Bruce said. We nodded in thanks and started walking down the street. Our apartment was a few blocks away from the main house. We wanted to be close by, but not completely in the mix. A few humans were always nice to have around.
    "Hey there J doll," came a raspy voice. A tall, lanky man with greasy black hair stepped forward, reeking of human.
    "Harland," Juliet groaned as the man took her hand.
    "Where have you been baby doll? I miss you."
    "Harland, we're over. We've been done for months. Let go and leave us alone." Harland was before my time. From what I know, Juliet had a fling with Harland and he got a little over attached. He's been stalking her since she dropped him.
    "Us? Why would I bother your little roommate? You're the only one I want." Harland pulled Juliet into him, and out of pure jealousy, I grabbed his arm and bit it. Harland shrieked and let go of Juliet, backing away.
    "Leave her alone, or you'll lose the use of your hand," I snarled.
    Harland stumbled backwards, and tripped on the curb. He fell to the street, got back up, and an across. When he reached the other side, he shouted, "I'll be back baby doll, don't you worry!"
    I rolled my eyes and muttered, "Humans."

    Blood Bond
    ::Chapter One::
    ::Part One::
    Blood trickled down my neck from my mouth. Just like biting into an apple, but warmer, and juicer. I exhaled as I leaned back, exposing myself to the moon.
    "You done being dramatic?" asked a voice. I looked behind me and saw Juliet. Blood had splattered around her breasts and face. I laughed and said, "Am I ever?"
    We dragged the bodies towards the front of the alley. Juliet flipped out her cell phone and dialed a number.
    "Three bodies, East Carnnel Street, 4th alley on the left from Beech," she looked to me and said, "You were hungry tonight."
    "I haven't eaten in weeks! Of course I was!" I laughed, "With all the studying I've been doing, it shouldn't be a surprise. I haven't been able to go out for a bite of real food."
    We both laughed as a black van turned the corner. Juliet waved and the van stopped. A tall man with spikey blonde hair stepped out.
    "Juliet. Onyx. Feeding went well?" he asked.
    "Well, we don't have stakes through our hearts, now do we Devin?" Juliet asked. We followed Devin into the bodies. He looked them over, and then looked at us.
    "Three? Did you guys split one?"
    "No, I was hungry." I said. Devin wasn't the brightest. You would have been able to tell it was me who fed on the second guy. I have a smaller jaw than Juliet and our bite patterns are different. Juliet loves splatters, I like a more direct route.
    "I see… well, I can give you guys a ride back if you want. Just don't eat anymore out of these guys, alright?" Devin offered. Juliet and I nodded, we weren't going to be walking around covered in blood.
    We climbed into the back as Devin and Bruce, a shorter guys with a muscular build and dark hair, loaded up the bodies. I leaned over and ran my finger through some of the blood on Juliet's shoulder. She looked at me as I tasted it.
    "Mmm. B positive… with a hint of red wine."
    "Very good." She said as she began to clean herself up. Before I could the same, Juliet took a quick taste of the blood on me.
    "A and O negative with some mint and, is that, jasmine?" Juliet looked at me, a bit of surprise in her eye.
    "Yes it is. I'm trying something new. Besides, when you're that hungry, you'll take anything."
