my mom works for DollarTree
(she's the store's manager.)
last night they told her to tune into
a conference call at 7am to find out
if they were going to open tomorrow
or not due to the snow storm. At 7am
they told her to go into the store, which
is an hour away without the snow, and
that they'll have another conference call
at 9. my mom barely made it in time, but
she did and on the call? the DM said "ok,
go home. we're not going to open today."
like, what? I mean I'm glad my mom's
home but they would have saved some
time if they said that at the 7am call. oh,
and get this, on the call, the lady that is
the manager at the store across town
spoke up about something and the DM
said "you and weasie (my mom) should
have it easy. you weren't supposed to get
near as much as harrisburg." OMG. guys,
the highway, the HIGHWAY, THE HIGHWAY
THAT IS THE FIRST THING TO EVER GET
PLOWED, was covered by 6+ inches of
snow. my mom actually got stuck on
the highway because the plows couldn't
keep up . right, easy peasy of a time. if
harrisburg did indeed get it much worse,
I'd hate to see how it is there.
side note, combined with the snow from
today and like a week ago, my yard is like
over-the-knee deep and I'm like so stoked
because snow makes me very happy.
