Hope has two beautiful daughters; their names are Anger and Courage. Anger at the way things are, and Courage to see that they do not remain as they are.

This is Thanksgiving but what's there to be thankful for?
300 school girls are still missing and almost no one cares.
Over 200,000 people are dead in Mexico and no one even knows.
The media is covering up a revolution in Brazil.
The murderer of an 18-year-old black teenager has made a fortune out of donations, is still living free, and has no remorse for what he did.
    However,
there are people dedicating themselves to informing us about these injustices.
There are people standing outside in the cold risking their lives protesting what they know is wrong.
There are people in our country and around the world that are fighting for a change.
There are people that are still taking rubber bullets and tear gas bombs to stand up for basic human rights.
There are people simply recognizing that what is happening in our world right now is wrong.
And that's what we need to be thankful for.

I thought leaving you would be easy, just walking out the door, but I keep getting pinned against it with my legs around your waist. And it's like my lips want you like my lungs want air, it’s just what they where born to do. So I am sitting at work thinking of you, cutting vegetables in my kitchen, your hair in my shower drain, your fingers on my spine in the morning while we listen to Muddy Waters. I know you will never be the one I call home, but the way you talk about poems like marxists talk of revolution it makes me want to keep trying. I’m still looking for reasons to love you. I'm still looking for proof you love me.Clementine Von Radics

So, the person that fired the "shot heard 'round the world" (the shot that started the war) was from my town. So, basically, my town is responsible for your freedom. You're welcome.

    An estimated 90,000 - 120,000 dead, 2.5-3 million displaced, 130,000+ missing or detained by government forces, 1.2 million+ refugees;
2 years, 2 months, 3 weeks, 6 days of full out war: Welcome to Syria
I expect you all to know what Syria is or what is going on but like a youtube star who got his 15 minutes and was thrown into a pile of been there, done that, the media has totally ingnored Syria and the world has no idea whats going on
Everyday the fighting nears the capital; surrouding cities like Douma - where my mom grew up, Aleppo, the biggest city in the country, Homs, Hama - they are gone
Protesters, civilians, FSA (Free Syrian Army - an opposition force made of of defected Syrian Army soldiers who refused to torture and fire at protesters and volunteers of all ages and genders) fighters, even people who were inside their houses minding their own busniess like my pregnant cousin and her husband (who's house was raided by government forces just for fun, they took all their money and kipnapped them, we haven't heard from them since) or like my cousin who got his arms blown off, my cousins and uncle were imprisoned, - have been killed, kidnapped, and tourtured in ways you couldn't even imagine
Syria's situation was labeled a civil war only a year ago, the Assad regime has ruled for over 40 years and countinues to kill, torture, massacre its people if it means they'll have to give up their power
Spread the word, donate if you can, do something, please
Learn more: bbc.co.uk, freesyria.tumblr.com, aljazeera.com, huff post (Syria), wiki/Syrian_Civil_War & more .. just google it. I would advise you not to look at the images if you can't handle visuals of this sort
    I'm losing my home.

    Here's the problem: In 2010...
-Over half, about 56 percent, of all students have witnesses a bullying crime take place while at school.
-A reported 15 percent of all students who don't show up for school report it to being out of fear of being bullied while at school.
-There are about 71 percent of students that report bullying as an on-going problem.
-Along that same vein, about one out of every 10 students drops out or changes schools because of repeated bullying.
-One out of every 20 students has seen a student with a gun at school.
-Some of the top years for bullying include 4th through 8th graders in which 90 percent were reported as victims of some kind of bullying.
-Other recent bullying statistics reveal that 54 percent of students reported that witnessing physical abuse at home can lead to violence in school.
-Among students of all ages, homicide perpetrators were found to be twice as likely as homicide victims to have been bullied previously by their peers.
-There are about 282,000 students that are reportedly attacked in high schools throughout the nation each month.
But I do believe we can change these ongoing bullying problems. We can form a safe environment where no one is judged.
Honestly, I'm probably one of the most awkward, weirdest people ever. And I don't have any really good friends that I feel like I can go to for help, and I know that's the case with a ton of people.
So here's how we change it: We rise against. We treat everyone here and out in the world with respect, because you never know what people are going through. We will be ourselves and be confident with that, and we will compliment each other on their unique traits. And we will never say anything bad about anyone else.
If you can vow to do that, then please join me. Together, we can start a movement.

Does anyone realize how amazing Deborah Samson was?
She was born in 1760 and was the oldest of six children. When she was young, her father went out to sea and abandoned his family. To help her family, Deborah became an indentured servent from age 8 to age 17.
In 1778, Deborah wanted to enlist in the army as a continental soldier. Since she was tall for a woman at that time (5'7"). She successfully joined in 1782, inlisting under the name of her deceased brother, Robert Samson.
During her first battle (July 3, 1782) she was wounded, recieving two bullets in her leg and an enormous cut on her forehead. Despite her protests, her fellow soldiers refused to abandon her and took her to the hospital. Doctors treated the wound, but Deborah left the hospital before they could attend the wound in her leg, in fear of being discovered. She removed the bullets herself with a sewing needle.
After a peace treaty was signed, everyone thought that America's war for independence was over. However, on June 24, George Washington ordered a fleet of soldiers to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to aid in putting down a rebellion of several American officers.
During the summer of 1783, Samson came down with malignant fever and was cared for by a doctor, Barnabas Binney. He removed her clothes to treat her and discovered that she was a woman. He did not betray her, though. Instead took her to his house, where his wife and daughters housed and took care of her.
After Samson recovered, she returned to the army, but not for long. In September 1783, peace was assured through the signing of the Treaty of Paris. November 3 was the date for the soldiers to be sent home. When Dr. Binney asked her to deliver a note to General John Paterson, she thought that her secret was out. However, General Henry Knox never uttered a word; instead, she received an honorable discharge from the service, a note with some words of advice, and a sum of money sufficient to cover her expenses home.
On October 25, 1783, General Knox honorably discharged her from the Army at West Point, after a year and a half of service.
