    R.I.P Grandfather
Cancer took another life.Heaven gained another angel.God saw him getting tired and a
cure was not to be, so he put his arms around him and whispered "Come to me".I'm
so sorry for all the pain you suffered on your last days.I can't go a sec without thinking
about you. You're in a better place now.Tears streamed on my face when i saw you
that way.Your body wasn't moving .You weren't breathing.I was hoping every moment
that you could blink your eyelashes and look at me saying something but you weren't
moving. You were so cold grandpa you were so white. When i kissed you i couldn't see
you cause tears covered my eyes. When we went to your grave i didn't believe you
were there i hoped you were home in your bed .I never thought you'd leave.
Everything feels so empty without you. Your room, our house, everything. What i'm
going to do without you?Tell me please tell me how to live without your presence.
I hate myself so much that i wasn't there for you when you were passing away
but please forgive me cause i couldn't see you suffering that way.If tears could build
a stairway, and thoughts a memory lane, i'd wald right up to heaven and bring you
home again. Please watch me over there.I love you so much.I miss you so much.
    You'll never be forgotten.

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my grandfather did in his sleep
Not yelling and screaming like the passengers in his car.

    If Alexander Graham Bell's grandchildren
didn't call him "Graham-Father" then honestly what was the point of having grandchildren

    Before my grandfather passed,
    I remembered when
    He kissed my cheek
    And said
    "I'll be back,
    Don't worry"
I thought everything would be just fine
I felt his little hairs on his fingers
When he ran it across my face
I thought I'd see him again
    Little did I know,
That was the last time I did.

So, I had to write a poem for poetry class, and it had to do with something involving family, so I wrote it about my grandfather. Keep in mind this is a work of fiction, and some feedback would be great!
Behind the Desk that Built His Grave
    The grandfather’s clock strikes 1, 2, 3
    Soft sunshine sun divulges dust
Scattered across the smooth wood polish
    Lies among two rough hands
    Weak and weary from use
Sapphire veins bulge through the pale skin
    And stress shows through
    The grandfather’s clock strikes 4, 5, 6
Closing Time begins; it is that everyone has gone
    All is quiet
    except behind a wood desk
    & behind a locked door
More numbers of time lay before
    drunk lawyer of litigations
    The grandfather’s clock strikes 7, 8, 9
Each chime sounds with a swirl of
golden parching liquid and the single clink of ice
    With each dawning passing hour
    The grandfather’s clock strikes 10, 11
    A double beat
    Followed by paralyzing silence
    As motions stutter
& the liquid gold falls from the hands
To cascade toward the numbers of time
    The grandfather’s clock strikes midnight
    A deep echo rang
    A final heartbeat sound
    Heard by not a soul
    Behind a wood desk
    & behind a locked door
The cold, starch white body stood
    Still.
Behind the desk that built his grave

My grandmother passed away July 17th, 2011.
She had been suffering from Alzheimers and dementia.
She was the strongest woman I had ever met.
She had always loved the color Purple,
And was is awe when I sang to her.
    At her funeral,
My grandfather requested I sing a song in her rememberance.
    The song was:
"I Won't Give Up" by Jason Mraz.
To this day, I still can't make it through the first verse without sobbing.
When her memory started to fade,
One of the first things to escape her mind was my name,
    Since I'm the youngest grandchild.
She started calling me her "Skinny Mini"
    Though she had no idea,
A year before she became ill,
    I developed Anorexia Nervosa,
And was nearly 50 pounds underweight.
I made a promise by her gravestone,
    That by July 17th, 2013,
I would be at a healthy weight.
    Today, I weigh 145 pounds,
And I've recovered from my disease.
I know she would be proud of me.
I know shes looking down on me.
Shes watching me and my family live our daily lives,
Keeping us safe in everything we do.
Now, my grandfather's health is declining rapidly.
Even though I was strong when my grandmother passed away,
I don't know what I'll do if I lose my grandfather, too.

:)
