memory but there is “me”
because now all I can see when I look back on us is everything
I did to make you leave and if I exist to you now it is only as
a learning experience, a wrong turn, a mistake you would not
revisit again and I need you to know that is just what you are
to me, only you are proof that I have the power in me to ruin,
to devastate everything that I hold dearest to me. There is no
“you” in memory but there is “me”, and
that is my prison, my curse, my
punishment.
