Only the first marriage counts.
Once you vow to unite with someone until one of you dies, if you
break that vow, it’s meaningless to vow it again to someone
else. The responsible thing to do after that is disclose to every
person who gets close to you that your association is provisional
at best, because you can’t be trusted.
A personal vow is the highest law
that governs each of us. It’s higher than any municipal,
state, national, international, or religious law. Your personal
vow is your word as a living individual sovereign soul in the
universe. If you can’t keep your own vow, nothing else you
say has any weight.
