You can't let yourself care so much about other people's opinions that it prevents you from doing what's best for your own self. It sounds like a high school environment isn't a place where you belong, and I think you know that already, but what you don't seem to know (and what other people aren't telling you) is that it is /okay/ that that isn't where you belong. In no way does it mean that you aren't smart and can't achieve great things; it simply means your talents and abilities are better suited elsewhere. If it's too emotionally difficult for you to complete your education, you shouldn't feel obligated to just because other people 'believe' in you. This decision is a completely personal one and will never require an explanation. And if you let a few people down, so what? This is your life, you can't be told what to do with it. You know what you need better than anybody else ever will. Above all else, please remember that a high school diploma doesn't validate your worth as a person. You are relevant with or without one.
