You do
not choose
to be mentally ill
People have
no control
over whether
or not
they
develop an eating disorder
It happens
to certain
people for a reason
But no
one chooses
an eating disorder
And to
portray it
as such, is incredibly
offensive to anyone
with these
serious illnesses
If
eating disorders
were something
people
simply choose,
they would not make people sick
They
would not have a mortality
rate
People
would not need treatment
if eating disorders
were something you
just start
and stop one day
Eating
disorders
are not diet plans
, and if you treat them
like they
are,
I do not believe you
understand them at all
Promoting
an eating
disorder
as a diet
does not equal
suffering from one
Because
eating disorders
do not cause you
to selfishly harm
other people
