"Mum,
why do I have to study subjects that I will never ever use in my
life?"
She stared at him blank eyed and stifled a sigh. She would
reply-
"You know to get a good job you need to get a good degree,
and these subjects will help you get a good degree. We never had
this oppurtinity when I was younger."
"But you were young a long time ago, weren't you
mum?"
And she would not respond.
Even though what he implies makes perfect sense, that societies
needs would have changed since she was 16.
But she will ignore him. Not because she wanted to shut him
up.
No, she ignored him simply because she doesn't know any
better herself.
