Fun fact, I sat on the admission board for my college this year , I'll be a senior next year in college, anyway GPA is important, someone below said Senior year is all they look at false, though if you have a good senior year thats important, if you have a chance try to explain you GPA on your application, though don't give excuses, be honest, Maybe studying, or partied to much idk people have problems. College's look honesty, you have one more year, get some volunteer hours in they look good on your resume, and they give you good experince, finally SAT, ACT, personally i had a 3.2 GPA in hs, sounds good but for the schools I wanted to get into it was not even close, take practice courses study for your ACT, SAT (act is more sceince math based), (sat is more english grammar, reading, writing based) I took the ACT, got a really good score got into my reach schools, but really GPA is not a huge factor its important always apply to your reach schools, your good chance schools, and then some safety schools. You can always do a year and get good grades and transfer schools, Don't give up its not the end of the world, follow your passion as well, even if there are not a lot of jobs in that field go for it, keep reaching, rather be happy in life then rich :) , any questions feel free to ask I"ll be going to Grad School for a Masters in one year let me know . - Mitch

Thank you so much for your advice! I really appreciate it. I'll definitely take everything into consideration! I have 70 volunteer hours and I've taken the SAT but not the ACT. I'm going to sign up for it! Thank you again, you have no idea how much I appreciate this!

Okay, my sweet, just breathe. I'm going to let you in a little secret.

Colleges DO look at your senior year grades, firstly. Depending on when you apply, they look at either your first quarter grades, or first semester grades. Secondly, they understand that we're human and there will be dips in our grades. It's impossible to always do exceedingly well, all that matters is that you jump back. What people also forget is that a huge part of the college application is the essay. The essay is the part of the application you can let your light shine through. It's very personal, and they read it thoroughly. My friend had Ds most of her high school career and she still got into a school. You may not be Ivy League material (neither am I, you have to not sleep to get into those schools), but that doesn't mean you don't have a bright future! I mean, really, it's better to not go to a "name brand" school, because they're more focused on getting more money, not ensuring a quality education. Nonetheless, back to the point; colleges don't expect you to be perfect, and they really do look past your grades. They realizes that behind the letters on your transcript, there is a living, breathing person (an extraordinary, amazing one, at that). If they see that you show improvement, they'll love that just as much as you getting straight As all four years (which is basically impossible). Your common app essay is a place for you to explain yourself. FURTHERMORE, no matter where you end up going, it will be the school you belong. That may not be your first choice, but everyone I know who didn't end up going to their first choice said the same thing, they can't see themselves going anywhere else than the college they're going to now. And either way, no matter where you go, you're getting a quality, college education! And you will be fine!! You can come to me any time you need any help!! Everything will be okay, and your future is bright, and everything is going to work out for the best. Just breathe. It will all be okay. Okay? You'll get through this. ♥
