A Twisted Game

War is like a twisted game,
you win, you lose - your fate's the same.

You'll end up strewn across the floor,
your body lifeless forevermore.

Your heart is dead, your skin like ice,
your tattered clothes, a home for mice.

Your friends are either dead or grieving ,
as your soul, hell bound, is leaving.

You died for your country, they say,
but you'd just like to see a new day.

Now your location remains a mystery,
no one cares, 'coz now you're history.

You died for them, you gave your life,
but no one knows your pain or strife.

You gave your life so they could live,
but a minute's silence is all they give.

War is like a twisted game,
it's all pain and no gain.
