Not all pop fans are like that, its mostly Justin Beiber fans and Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna fans...and some Directioners.
That's why I like indie, rap and acousticcc.

Does that really honestly happen? Because if I were to say "I don't like pop music" at school or in public I'm pretty sure no one would care. No hate

I think he just said "pop music" to sum it up. Think about it. If someone said "I don't like Bieber/One Direction/Rhianna/etc" their fanbases would go off on you. Not saying all.
