RAINBOW PRIDE Chapter one
http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=78087161 I wake up to my blaring
alarm clock and practically crush the snooze button with my palm.
But I look at the time and remember that I already hit the snooze
about three times. I pop out of bed and sprint to the bathroom. I
toss cold water on my face, and comb through my hair quickly—and
painfully. I throw on a black shirt, jeans, and a necklace, and
then slide down the railing on the stars. "Do you want anything for
breakfast?" My mom says. I almost say yes, but I look at the clock
on the oven and decide against it. "No thanks, Adam's probably
waiting for me." I mutter. Mom nods and goes back to to sipping
coffee and making a grocery shopping list. I dash to the front
door, and dig out my vans from the closet. As I'm tying my second
shoe, Adam's car pulls into the driveway. "Bye, mom." I say and I
jog to the waiting car. "Hey" I say to Adam, and hop in the
passenger seat. "Jesus, you're a mess." He says, smiling. I look in
the mirror, and my hair is all knotted, my mascara clumped and
flakey, and my skin dry and oily. Adam laughs at the face I make at
my reflection. "Well not all of us are perfect, Adam," I sigh, "I
slept late." I look at him. He is perfect. If only the rest of the
school could see that. Adam looks at me for a second, then he knits
his eyebrows together and tightens his grip on the steering wheel
until his knuckles turn white. "What's going on down there?" says
and looks pointidly at my arm where my sleeve rolled up. I yank it
down and mumble, "The cat." Right. Because all cats can leave
perfectly parallel scars. Adam jerks the wheel and pulls the car
over, and stops. He looks spacily out the window, like he's lost.
He takes a sharp breath and turns to me. His voice shakey, he
whispers "You relapsed."
