You have to respect other opinions if you want others to respect yours. And if you are do religious, God said to accept and forgive everyone which I doubt you do.

erinstaley · 9 years ago
That definitely was not an opinion.

I'm not for or against homosexality, but I know I would never be a lesbian because it is against my religion, but I would never judge someone who is gay.

if you were a lesbian you wouldn't have had a choice about it, regardless of religion

As much as I think this comment is rude and hateful, we all have opinions. It's not a person's choice! People fall in love with a person NOT a gender. Love is love. If you can't handle or agree to homosexuality then I would say just ignore it before trying to cause arguments.

I find it extremly funny how some people really take the time of their name (not like they have anything better to waste it on) and comment on how "hating" gays is WRONG, and they don't CARE about your opinion.
If you don't care, don't comment.

I understand everyone's arguments against this but i have to say that i agree with it, because you're all arguing whether it is right or not, but the fact is that the quote is FACT, he DID make them, it's in the bible, and even though I'm not christian i know that. It doesn't actually say in this quote that it's wrong, so you who say it's wrong started the argument. My opinion is that I don't mind people being gay but the fact is that it is to an extent unnatural. If man and man or woman and woman were meant to be together, they'd be able to have children. True, people can adopt them, etc, but they didn't make them themselves. It's unnatural because without people reproducing, the world couldn't go on. If gay couples want to be together, then go ahead, and i wouldn't argue with it, but i think it's unfair on the church because (and idk how many people pay attention to this) on the news the church was reluctant to allow gay marriages because of the bible saying that a marriage is a union between a man and a woman. I think they should be able to be together if they want, but marriage is a step too far.

mar·riage
/ˈmarij/
Noun
The formal union of a man and a woman, typically recognized by law, by which they become husband and wife.

I'm not shunning love and saying they can't be together but i think it's all gone too far.

Being gay isn't a chose, you don't just wake up and say i think I'm gonna be gay today? NO because just like you don't pick who you fall in love with love is love don't judge. The people that say I like gay people good. The people who say they don't.... sucks because there not going away! ;)

lin_luvs_u · 1 decade ago
It isn't really a choice,No one sits there making you decided wether you want to be ether a lesbian, gay or bisexual.I'm a lesbian.I believe in god and know I can go to hell. But at least to will go to hell being in love with another woman and knowing I'm happy. We all get judged.Just because god made Adam and Eve doesn't mean he still doesn't love us.Truthfully you need to get over the fact that it's now okay for gay marriage. On that day I became happy. If you don't support it,That's you.But personally that's so rude to put that on a public website where many people may or may not believe on what you're saying.

If somebody was put in a room their whole life and had no contact with the outside world. Only his father and mother. He hadn't an idea what "gay" was. He wouldn't be gay! It's the environment you grow up in.

Let me point out the flaws in that argument:
a) This is from the bible, the religious book of christians. What about holy books of other religions? religins that existed before christ? like hinduism or islam?
b) Your religious beliefs have no place in a secular place of law.
c) If you think gay s e x is icky, GET OVER IT.
d) do you think inter-religous marriage is wrong too? What about interracial marriage? If you are decent human being you won't be against them. Why? Love is love.

thumbs up 3 thumbs down reply

erinstaley · 1 decade ago
I'm not rac*st. I thing GAY MARRIAGE is wrong. One day I may marry a Black person, or a muslaman. that's normal marriage. Gay marriage isn't normal.
thumbs up -4 thumbs down reply

Primadonna* · 1 decade ago
Why? It's legal, science allows gay couples to have kids, or like infertile couples, adopt children abandoned by straight people. What's so wrong about it.
thumbs up 1 thumbs down reply

erinstaley · 1 decade ago
You have to be straight to HAVE a baby. You can be however you want to GET a kid. We're all from different cultures. I f i marry somebody with a 1/16 french blood is that wrong? NO!
thumbs up -5 thumbs down reply

Primadonna* · 1 decade ago
I never said anything about being against interracial marriages. I merely compared it to in the sense both were shunned socially. and no, ever heard of artificial insemination? What about surrogacy? Those are scientific methods used to help people have children when they can't. Its legal and people have it done.
thumbs up 1 thumbs down reply

erinstaley · 9 years ago
Surrogacy, for example. When you have your 2 women, who's are you going to use? The male's? Oh wait.
thumbs up 0 thumbs down reply

Primadonna* · 9 years ago
You need a man and a woman to MAKE a baby. You don't need both to raise one. Single parents are perfectly capable of raising their children, so, naturally, gay parents can too..

What if you were told that you were wrong for loving someone? Also, not everyone believes in God, and not everyone believes in Adam and Eve, so why should we base laws based on religious beliefs not everyone holds, especially in a nation with freedom of religion? Besides, God loves ALL of his children, not just the white ones, not just the rich ones, not just the straight ones, but ALL of them. Plus, if God created gay people, and if you're telling them that it's wrong for them to be gay, then aren't you saying that God was wrong in making them who they are? What if you were forbidden from marrying the person you love just because some lawmakers decided that it was wrong? Romantic love is romantic love, there aren't any kinds, much less a right kind. Besides, the Declaration clearly states that "all men are created equal," and by illegalizing marriage equality, this totally violates one of the most famous and profound statements of the national document that made us a country! Marriage equality FTW (:

Ok, This is an OK arguement, I'd have to say. But Gay never used to exist. Why in the world should it now?

thumbs up -8 thumbs down reply

FreakingPip* · 1 decade ago
It always existed, it's just that social norms are changing and more people are accepting of those who come out.
thumbs up -1 thumbs down reply

No. It used to never exist! A man married a woman and vice versa!
thumbs up -5 thumbs down reply

I live in a country where marriages are arranged by your parents. Its perfectly reasonable to expect that this is what happened to homosexuals.

Marriage doesn't mean anything. What about all the men and women in the world who never married? Isn't it possible they were homosexual and never came out? There are speculations that numerous historical figures were not straight, among them are da Vinci, Langston Hughes, Shakespeare, James Buchanan, and Sappho of Lesbos wrote poetry on the subject in 600/500 BCE...how can you say it never existed?

Did they say they were Gay/Lesbian? No.. Just because they were single doesn't mean they were gay. Im single. Does that mean I'm a lesbian?
thumbs up -2 thumbs down reply

FreakingPip* · 1 decade ago
That's not what I mean. I mean it's simply a possibility, and there is much speculation on it. My point is that homosexuality has existed just as long as heterosexuality has. You can't say it's made up, or that it's anything new
thumbs up 0 thumbs down reply

FreakingPip* · 1 decade ago
And again, different times=different social norms. More people are willing to come out because people are more tolerant to those who are different these days.

In the bible it also says you can't cut your hair, you can't eat shell fish, and that we should kill people who work on Sundays. You or your family eat shellfish, they work on Sundays and certainly cut their hair so your argument is invalid. It never said not to be gay. It said any man who lies with another man should be stoned. There's many different interpretations of that. You're being ridiculous.
thumbs up 6 thumbs down reply

erinstaley · 1 decade ago
The hair cutting, shellfish eating, and people working on Sundays is in the OLD TESTEMENT!!! In the NEW testiment there are multiple things saying gay marriage is totally wrong and that if a man lays with a man or woman lays with a woman they should surely be put to their death. Your Argument is invalid.
