Take me back to the days
of swingsets and sunshine.
When 9 year old girls
wore bows and played with toys,
instead of owning iphone and falling in "love" with
boys.
Take me back to the days
when my biggest fear
was not getting out to the playground fast enough.
My greatest hope,
that we really would be best friends, forever.
And when my biggest ambition...
to grow up and be an astronaut,
or a dancer,
or a magician?
Take me back to the days
of swingsets and sunshine.
When high,
was looking down from the top of the slide.
When independence,
was finally getting to walk home by myself.
And when forever,
really did seem forever away.
Yeah, I'd give anything to get back to those days
