And Then She Was Gone:
She choose to walk alone, Though others wondered why.
She looked before her, Eyes cast upward to the sky.
She didn't have companions, No need for earthly things.
She only wanted freedom, for she was held with puppet
strings.
She wanted to be a bird, so that she might fly away.
She pitied every blade of grass, for planted they would stay.
She longed to be a flame, that brightly danced alone.
Though jealous of the steam, that had the air as its only
home.
Some say she was odd, Some say she wished for too long.
But we awoke one autumn day, to see that she was gone.
The trees with sticks had witnessed, the wind refused to
tell.
But the one who said he had seen it said the story was played out
well.
She lifted up her arms, to the rise of the breaking dawn.
She let go of everything, And then she was gone.
