Discovering Destiny
Chapter 4 part 1: Aislinn's P.O.V.

“Aislinn! Oh my gosh, are you okay? I’m so sorry! We had no idea you couldn’t swim! I tried to stop Brad, I should’ve--”
“Michelle, it’s okay. You didn’t know. It’s not your fault. I’m not mad; it just scared me, that’s all.” I tried to shrug it off but in all honesty I was still really shaken up about it.
“Okay, if you’re sure. I’m just so glad you’re okay!” She threw her arms around me, and I could tell we were going to be fast friends. At least I hoped we would. I could go with or without Brad, though. “Do you want to grab some lunch? I could show you some good places on the boardwalk.”
“Rain check?” I smiled hopefully and she looked kind of hurt. “It’s nothing you did! It has nothing to do with you!” I tried to reassure her. “It’s… I’ll tell you about it some other time.”
“Okay, see you soon!” She said as she let me go on my walk home. I turned toward the lifeguard chair and saw Ryan staring at me. Well, it looked like he was staring at me, but I couldn’t tell because of is sun glasses.
“Grams, I’m home!” I yelled as I walked through the door. I’d decided I wasn’t going to tell her what happened today. I didn’t want her to worry over nothing. “Want me to make grilled cheeses?”
“Sure, dear that sounds yummy- oh Aislinn, what’s happened to you? Why are you all cut up?” She fussed as she examined my head and arm. I had forgotten about those when I planned on not telling her.
I sighed. “I met some kids and they thought it would be fun to go for a swim. It wasn’t so fun for me.”
“Oh dear, are you alright? Why in the world would they do that?”
“Don’t worry Grams, I’m fine. Really. And they didn’t know, it’s not their fault. I was too embarrassed to tell them… I didn’t want to explain everything.”
“Oh, sweetie I’m sorry.” She said as she hugged me close to her. “How about I make the grilled cheeses?”

----------------------
Grams and I drove down to the boardwalk later that night, and I had her try an orange banana smoothie. She loved it. She said it was the perfect blend of orange, banana, and perfection. I could see us becoming frequent customers there.
We sat down at a table and enjoyed our refreshing drinks, and I was careful not to spill it on my dress. I liked loose, floral clothing, and I especially loved sundresses. Jeans were just too constricting and tight. “I think he likes you.” Grams whispered, playfully nudging me. I looked over confusedly to where she was gesturing and saw Ryan sitting with some guys, looking at me. “He’s cute.” She decided.
“That’s the lifeguard that saved me. His name’s Ryan. He probably recognizes me and is trying to remember how.”
“Mhm, sure.” She winked at me and sipped her smoothie. I stuck my tongue out at her and she laughed. “Ready to go?”
“Um, I think I’m going to hang out here for a bit. I’ll walk back in a little while. Is that okay?”
She looked over toward Ryan, then back at me, wiggling her eyebrows. “Oh yes dear, that’s fine. Have fun.” She kissed my head and started walking toward the car. I rolled my eyes at her. She was ridiculous. I wasn’t staying for Ryan; I was staying purely because I loved being outdoors and enjoying the fresh air.
I zoned out, and a few minutes later, someone cleared their throat.

Great, the two part chapters are already starting.
