I sorta do, its getting better though. I went to counseling but I hated it and she didn't really understand how to help me with it and she just mentioned all these dumb ideas that would of made it worse. So I'm getting better so I can quit going :P

Hi. Uh well I just had this big long dramatic conversation with my mum and she finally told me that she thinks I'm suffering anxiety. My dad used to have it too years ago, now it only comes occasionally with medical stuff. Anyways, she suggested that I get counseling so I can talk to someone for it but I said no instantly. I usually get anxiety with things ranging from getting a tooth pulled to speaking in front of a class and it's really affecting me and my school grades

Okay, well, I have two therapists so counselling might actually work well for you. If you don't think counselling is going well, you can ask if your psychiatric nurse (if you have one) thinks it'll be a good idea for you to take medication (I'm currently on Prozac). I know how it affects school and other social aspects of your life, for the past three years I've been privately tutored due to the fact that I couldn't stand large quantities of people. Also, yeah, anxiety can be heredity, as both my father and grandfather have it...

I don't know I just hate the idea of going to counseling. I've heard of Prozac, though my mum doesn't fully approve of using medications because my dad took some for his but it didn't really work. Yeah I just get super nervous about little things and it's just super annoying and is affecting everyting.

I didn't really like it much at the beginning either, I would refuse to speak to them and occasionally cry because I was uncomfortable with talking about my feelings and thought process. But it generally does get a lot easier when you build a sort of "bond" with your counsellor. Prozac takes about six months to actually show results, and if you're having negative thoughts I wouldn't use it because it can heighten them a lot.

Six months?! Jeez I guess I'm not taking Prozac then...well I'll think about counseling though I still don't like the idea of it. I do have negative thoughts sometimes so I don't want to risk anything...

Hah, it is quite a while but it's one of the best medications for anxiety, depression, et cetera...You can arrange to meet them at your house if that makes it less uncomfortable for you, I couldn't go to the psychiatric hospital so my therapist visits me once every two weeks. I also occasionally get distressing thoughts but I normally feel better when I confined in someone I trust.
