Chapter 40
When they got out of their car I tried to rush them into my house
the best I could but Christian wouldn’t give.
“Hey, what’s with the rush? I wanna look at your
yard.” He said. He obviously knew I didn’t want Madison
to see him and that’s why he was doing this. “Why
don’t we go say hi to Madison.” Christian said.
“Yeah we should!” Olivia agreed.
“No” I said.
“Why? Come on! This is his house right?” Christian
asked, suddenly walking from my yard to Madison’s.
“Yes but Christian don’t go over there!” I was
serious, Madison would never forgive me if he found out I was with
Christian, since he was still mad about the picture. Christian
ignored me and kept walking. “Christian really stop!” I
said.
“Too late.” He said, and he was right. He was already
on his door step and then he rang his door bell. My stomach
dropped. I don’t know what Madison is gonna do but I know
it’s gonna hurt him. He’s gonna get the wrong
impression and… too late. The door slowly opened and sure
enough who was the person at the door? Madison.
“Hello Madison.” Christian said.
“What the hell are you doing here?” Madison questioned
him.
“I’m here with your girlfriend, she invited me
over.” Oh my god; he did not just say that. Madison stepped
outside and looked at me. I stood there speechless, I
couldn’t even move. The expression on Madison’s face
was surprising. He didn’t look mad, or happy, or confused. He
looked lost and devastated.
“You know what Julia, I just don’t think this is gonna
work; you and me.” Madison said. He looked down at the ground
and then went back inside his house. My heart was shattered into a
million pieces. Christian turned to me and I ran into my house and
up to my room. I didn’t start to cry until I reached my room
but within five minutes I was sure there would be puddles around
me. Christian came running up to my room and sat on my bed.
“Julia what just happened? I thought you said you guys
were good.” Christian asked.
“Someone sent him a picture if you and me kissing and he
doesn’t believe me that it never happened.” I said
between gasps for air.
“Who sent it?”
“We don’t know.” I said.
“Why would someone do that?”
I shrugged my shoulders because I couldn’t say anymore.
“I’m really sorry Julia. If I knew you guys were
fighting I never would have done that. I really don’t know
what I was thinking anyway; I was being a big jerk.” I really
couldn’t say anything. I was crying even more now.
“Do you forgive me?” Christian asked.
“Yes.” I managed to say. I lay down and continued to
cry. Christian moved over on the bed and he was now hugging me. I
cried for about an hour and when I finally stopped I sat up in my
bed.
“Where’s Olivia?” I asked.
“Her and john or down there probably sucking each
other’s faces.” Christian answered.
“Really? He really needs to date someone his own age,”
I laughed, “so how do you two know each other
anyway?”
“She’s actually my stepsister.”
“Oh my god! Wait are you serious?”
“Yeah. I should have told you but when she told me you guys
were going for coffee I knew I had to come see you.”
“So you’re living here now?”
“Well kind of. I really do have to go back tomorrow. My mom
and I are going back to get all of our stuff. Once we’re done
with that we’re gonna move in with Olivia and her
father.”
“It must be weird huh? Not knowing anything about someone and
then having to pick up and start a new life with them.”
“It definitely something I have to get used to.”
“Yeah that’s for sure. Look Christian, I’m sorry
about the whole Madison thing. You’re a really sweet guy
but…” I started to say but Christian interrupted
me.
“You could never look at me that way.” He said looking
down at the bed.
“No, that’s not it. I just really need a friend right
now. Just a friend.”
“I can do that.”
