The Things You Don't Know
Chapter Two,
Part 4
"Oh God, oh God, I'm so sorry Emily. I'm so
sorry..." He trailed off in apologies.
"Hey hey hey, what are you
apologizing for?"
"You have a boyfriend, don't
you?"
"Actually, we broke up yesterday.
I'm sorry I didn't mention that. But I would have stopped
you if I still had a boyfriend. I'd never cheat. I broke up
with him because he cheated on me."
"Oh. I'm really sorry to hear
that Em."
"It's okay. And, could you
please not call me Em?"
"Um, sure? Why though?"
"I just, can we not talk about
this? Come dance with me again." I smiled and held my hands
out to him. He smiled back, took my hand, and walked over to my
iPod to change the song.
We danced all night. All kinds of
artists, all kinds of dance. We took silly pictures. Its was the
best night I'd had in years.
I ended up falling asleep in the
bean-bag chair, and when I woke up the next day, I found a
blanket around me and a note on my iPod that read this:
Emily
☺
You fell asleep around midnight. I had to get home, so I wanted
to say good night, and sweet dreams. Here's my number if you
want to meet again this weekend.
Matt
978-693-0122
I grabbed my phone and entered
Matt's number. I made one of the pictures of us his contact
picture, and then sent the picture to Katy. I'm so happy. I
haven't felt this happy in, I don't know how long. I hope
Katy's happy for me. She usually is. She's been here for
me for almost 4 years. So she'll be happy for me. Right?. .
