imagine life as a mountain
you start on one side
where there is innocence and beauty
in everything you see
every year you take another step
up the mountain
away from the blisful ignorence
you become aware that things aren't so perfect
your eyes are opened 
and you see the hurt and suffering
it affects everyone 
even you
but you continue to walk forward
hoping with all your heart
that something better awaits
on the other side of the mountain
the path gets steeper
and has more confusing
until the pain and hurt become unbearable
you fall to your knees
unable to take another step
you lay where you drop
waiting for death
when you realize
that the ignorence you had before never left
just this time
you ignored the joy
in the last bit of your life
you start focusing on the beauty of the world 
instead of the hate
and inch by inch you slide down the mountain
then
as you take your last breath
preparing to leave this world
you reach the other side
and your mind is full of innocence and beauty once more
