Because his name lights up my phone,
the one who broke my heart.
I was watching a movie, with my best friend Michael,
and I started crying.. this is our conversation;
"Why are you crying over him? He's not worth it, and you
know he isn't.
That's exactly why you're crying right now, because you
know that
you wasted your time on him. He hurt you, don't think
about
forgiving him. You're absolutely incredible and you're
too good
for him. I mean it, you're beautiful, inside, and out. You
have
such an amazing personality and any guy, and I mean any,
would be lucky to have you. You're probably wondering why
I'm
even telling you all this right now, aren't you?"
"Yes, actually I am.. because none of it is true."
"Shannon, have you not realized how red I get everytime you
compliment me?
Or how flustered I get when you ask me how you look? I'm
telling you all this,
because I think I deserve a chance. You've been with so many
jerks,
and the whole time, I've been here. Waiting for you to
realize,
that you might feel the same way. We've been best friends
for years, and I know this sounds incredibly cliche,
but I'm completely, hopelessly, in love with you."
"It's about dang time."
And then, in the most perfect moment I've ever
experienced,
he pushed me against the wall, and kissed me.
Something I've only dreamed of.
So here it is; the classic love story.
Best friends falling in love.
I guess it just goes to show, that not all guys are the same.
And, well, maybe speaking up could help you out,
because it sure helped us.
