Chapter
11
I never even noticed that there wasn't an
alarm clock. Wait... Last time I remember, it was Thursday,
shouldn't I be at school right now? It's already past
eleven.
Then, I see Asher come in. He sees my confused face.
"You slept through all Friday. I went to school, you
didn't miss much," he informs me, handing me a mug
containing hot chocolate.
"Thank you," I whisper.
"I'll catch you up on school work later."
I sip the chocolate. It's a little hot, but I don't
really mind too much.
"Do you remember anything that happened?" he asks
me.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I?"
"I'm not saying I thought you didn't.. Just
checking. I don't want you to forget," he says, picking
up a brush and brushing my hair a bit. It had plenty of knots,
and it was probably good he was getting them out.
I slowly get out of the bed. I can walk now, but I am a little
sore. The fall plus what happened with Greg didn't help the
fact that I already had bruises, cuts, and scars from my
father.
"You okay to walk?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," I answer.
I begin to notice the house is decently sized, and well
furnished. I notice flowers set everywhere, hanging lights, a
large staircase, and a small little reflection pool outside, seen
through the window. I look around in awe. I never had things like
this, or much at all. I mean, currently, I'm living in a
freaking tent.
"Something wrong?" Asher's mom comes down the
stairs, finely dressed.
"Nothing at all, ma'am." I smile at her, and she
returns it. "Um, Asher. Can I.. Talk to you for a
minute?"
"Sure," he replies.
We walk into the guest room, as I sit on the bed, and pat next to
me.
"Yes?" he asks.
"I need to tell you something."
Anyone like? Interesting
chapter here. What's she gonna tell him?
