I don't know...my ex boyfriend was suicidal and stuff, but it really just got out of hand and I wound up breaking up with him. Like, if they were like, legit depressed, but weren't like "ohh poor pititful me" all the time, then yest I definitely would but..it just depends on how they acted about it. my ex would supposedly go cut himself whenever we had a fight and then he would call me and be all "I just cut my chest and it won't stop bleeding" and be crying and stuff, then walk around with his shirt off two days later, and there's no evidence anything had happened. and then everytime I tried to break up with him, he would call me crying and tell me he was going to kill himself if I broke up with him because our band teacher was mean to him and he didn't have anyone, so of course it scared me and I wouldn't break up with him. I finally did though, and he called me crying again, and I was just like "I don't even believe you anymore," and we broke up , and he's perfectly fine. So, i mean, it depends on how they were about it. Anybody like the guy I just described, I wouldn't and I would have no sympathy for. But other then that, sure. why not?

that makes complete sense.. it's kinda bad he did that, though, since you pretty much know he's lying. And I think that too, as long as they weren't always feeling bad for themselves, I would definitrly too, just cause I'd understand.. and I hope someone would do the same for me.

yeah. one time he called me and told me he'd been in a car wreck and was going to the ER, and I was about to leave on a school trip to florida, and I obviously started freaking out and like, he wouldn't text me back, and then an hour or so later, he calls me, crying, saying he made it up because I wasn't paying enough attention to him, and then he started the whole suicide thing and I was just like, ugghh...But yeah. I agree with you, it shouldn't matter whether someone self harms or not. they're still people.

Thanks, everybody, for all of your input :) A lot of what you guys said made total sense, and I agree with many of you. I would most definitely date someone with self-harm scars, just because I can relate. I like to think I'd be the reason they got better & recovered :) but that probably wouldn't happen. And the main reason I asked was because many people in my school/grade wouldnt date someone with scars.. amd it hurt a little since I have my own. I know I probably won't get someone who will accept me how I am.. but I'd like to think I'd find a guy who would :) Anyway, thanks again for what you said :)
