Never Be the Same
Chapter 22: Kendra's POV
How's this look?" Jamie asked, as she
stepped out of the dressing room.
Dana and I study the dress she had on, before looking over to
each other and nodding in approval.
Kyle was taking Jamie to Christmas Eve dinner at his aunt's,
and it'd be Jamie's first time meeting any of his family
members, after six months of dating.
Yeah, that's right, Jamie and Kyle are dating.
I'm not sure of how exactly, but somehow after I had thrown
Sam's party for his birthday, Kyle ended up asking Jamie out
to dinner and she said yes.
I guess you all can guess that it obviously went well.
As for Sean and Dana, the two of them were also dating, just much
more exclusively for some reason.
I felt my phone buzz in my back pocket, and I instantly knew it
was Sam called for help with something.
Him, Sean and Kyle were left in charge of Alana for the day,
which wasn't the best idea, but it wasn't that bad, so
far at least.
And don't think I'm saying that because they're bad
babysitters, they just have some pretty short attention spans
together.
"Yeah, Sam?" I said into the phone, waiting for his
voice to respond.
"Mamma!" A small voice squealed into the phone,
happily.
I smiled as I heard my daughter repeat the same word again.
Even though she was just nine months old, Alana was able to say a
few words, like "Mamma," as you already found out.
She also knew, "Daddy," "No," and
"Yes," like most babies, but also, "Cookies,"
which was no surprise with the influence the boys had on her.
"What's up, baby?" I asked into the phone, not
actually expecting her to reply.
Keep in mind, she's still under a year old.
"There's my phone!" I now heard Sam's voice say
in the background.
After a few seconds, Sam's voice came throught the other
line, "Ken?"
I raised up an eyebrow, "Yes?"
"What's up? You called?" he asked, and I fought the
urge to laugh.
I guess this was the reason I did leave them in charge, it was
actually pretty entertaining, as bad as that seems.
All three of them were completely oblivious when it came to
little things like their phones being stolen.
"Actually, I didn't, your daughter did," I said
through the laughter I tried holding back.
Sam sighed, "Sorry, babe. I didn't think she'd
figure out how to call you-"
"It's fine, Sam. I should be home in a little while,
anyway," I replied to him.
"That's fine, I'll see you in a bit, love you"
Sam said.
I felt my cheeks being to heaten up, "Love you too,
bye." I said, before hanging up.
"Aw, Kenny's blushing because Sammy loves her."
Jamie joked over to Dana as she paid for her dress.
I rolled my eyes, checking down at my phone for the time.
"Come on, Jay, I still have to get Sam's Christmas
gift," I said, tapping my foot impatiently.
Dana laughed and pushed my shoulder playfully, "That's
what you get for waiting until the last minute."
I rolled my eyes as Jamie recieved her change, and hurried out
the shop into the filled up mall.
It looks like I wasn't the only person doing some last
minutes Christmas shopping on December 20th, by the looks of how
packed Starway Mall was.
The three of us walked through the crowd of noisy people as one
of the newest One Direction songs played through the speakers as
some extra background noise.
As we reached the store I was searching for, I yanked both Dana
and Jamie in with me, I had the perfect present for
Sam.
Don't worry, It'll start picking up
after the next chapter, I think:P
