Today,
two girls were sitting outside the
local foodmart selling something (I'm not sure what, they
didn't pressue me) and as I passed by they asked me what I
was buying (from the foodmart). I said: "Oh I'm just
buying stuff fir my mum because she's coming home
tonight" and they said "oh that's nice" (not
patronisingly. They were being sinsere). Now you're probably
thinking, that's not really anything spectacular but as I
walked out of the shop one of them said
"hey, I really like your shoes!" (Yes Jules, it was my
combat boots :P)
"we were just talking about them"
and then the other girl said
"yeah you should be on a catwalk!"
It was the nicest thing a stranger has ever said to me.
They don't know how much that meant to me.
