Chapter 4
Before
they can even get out of the stall I run out of the bathroom,
embarrassed. Some random person just heard me talking to a ghost.
I walk back into class and sit down. I pretend like nothing
happened. The girl across form me, Jamie, leans over. "Is
the bathroom haunted Ghost Girl." I hear her friends
laughing and she pulls her long brown hair into a messy bun. I
just look away and ignore it. I've learned that's the
best thing to do, whenever I say something back it turns into a
huge argument. The rest of class I keep thinking about the
bathroom, and that little boy. At least I helped him crossover.
The rest of the day, like every day, is spent thinking about
going home and hiding in my room. When I finally get off the bus
I run home. "Hey! Wait up!" I turn around to see
Hayden, a girl in my grade, running towards me. She catches up to
me, but she's out of breath. "I wanted to talk to you
earlier, I was in the bathroom with you. Who were you talking
to?" Her green eyes are filled with curiosity. Doesn't
she know already? I thought the whole school knew I'm a
freaky ghost girl. "I was um, talking to a ghost." I
look down, it's embarrassing. "Wait, those rumors about
you seeing ghosts are true?" I look up, "Yea, they
are" Her mouth drops open. "That's so cool! I
thought someone made that up! I heard you saying that the ghost
needed to move on, did they?" She seems interested, I
thought she would react like everyone else. I smile a bit,
"Yea he did, he was looking for his mom but I told him
he's better off on the other side." She's the first
person not to laugh in my face then run off when I told them.
"Aw, poor little boy! Are they everywhere?" I can't
help but laugh, "Come back to my house and you can ask as
many questions as you want." We start walking back to my
house, I think Hayden's going to be my first and only
friend.
