Ghost
Girl
Chapter 3
Kelley
appears in front of me "Don't listen to a word they say,
they don't understand!" I nod and walk towards my
locker. "Excuse me." I say nicely. They don't move.
"So how's the ghosts, I bet they're you're only
friends." Alice smirks as her friends laugh at her remark.
It's true, Kelley is my only friend. "Can I just get to
my locker?" I clutch the strap on my backpack to keep myself
from crying. "Sure!" Alice starts to walk away but
before she does, she opens my backpack and drops it on the
ground. "Oops." Her friends start laughing. She starts
to walk away and I hear her say "Tell Casper I said
hi!" More laughter. I can't believe I thought she was my
friend. I bend down to pick up my books and someone kicks my
history book down the hallway. I go and get it, pick up the rest
ofmy books, and open my locker. I hear the warning bell ring, I
grab my english book and run to room 212. We get to choose where
we sit, and I sit in the back corner. I sit down and take out my
notebook. "Good morning class!" My teacher, Ms. Drew,
says as she walks in. She has short brown hair and sparkling blue
eyes. She has to be one of my favorite teachers. "Hey."
I hear from behind me as someone pulls my sleeve. "Can you
help me find my mommy?" It's a little boy, brown hair,
brown eyes, and a chubby face. He has to be around 5 years old,
poor kid. "No, I'm sorry I can't right now, I have
to stay here." I realize that to everyone else I'm
talking to no one. So I raise my hand, "Yes Michelle, what
is it?" Ms. Drew always sounds so happy. "May I go to
the bathroom?" I can talk to this little boy there without
getting the stares. "Of course!" She always lets people
go to the bathroom. So I get up and go into the bathroom. The
little boy appears. "Can you help me now?" He has the
most innocent voice. I kneel down to be eye level with him.
"No sweetie I'm sorry, I don't know if you know
this, but your dead. You need to move on, your mommy's ok.
Don't worry about her, you need to go to heaven. Can you do
that for me?" It takes a minute for him to process this.
"I-I'm... dead?" He asks, I can tell he doesn't
understand. "Yes, you are." It's so hard to tell a
little ghost boy that he's dead. There's a few minutes of
silence as he has a confused expression on his face. Then he
gives me a smile and dissapears. I think he just needed to know
he was dead to move on. Then I hear a toilet flush, someone else
is in the bathroom with me, and just heard me talking to a
ghost.
