my uncle was in the same position my cousin would come to my house crying every night... he could not walk and it got worse and it started to effect his speech to the point were all his words sounded like jiberish. his medicine didnt seem to work and we all thought he was gone. he started to get better after a long time and now when he comes over he gets on the ground with the dogs and wrestles with my brother. i believe your mom will be alright just tell her to keep believing.
