The Truth Comes Out Eventually
Chapter 11

I freeze as he walks up to me and smiles. "Hey babe, I'm gonna take you home ok?" He grabs my arms and starts pulling me towards the door. I look around and try to find Ben, he was still sitting down. When he saw Brett taking me by the arm, he got up and ran over to me. "No, Brett I'm taking her home." He let go of me, turned to Ben, and laughed. "Look, she's my girlfriend and I can beat the crap out of you in a second. Don't test me." Right now I'm just sick of everything, I turn to Brett. "Look, I'm driving myself home and because Ben came with me I'm driving him too. But you have you're own car and can drive yourself." I stare at him for a pure 5 seconds. He smiles. "Ok baby, see you back at your house." He walks out the doors, and Ben and I follow. When we get  to my car he turns to me. "I'm gonna drive ok?" He opens the driver door and I sit behind the wheel. I look at him, "No, I'm driving." He walks around to the passenger seat as I start the car. We don't say a word the whole way home. As I get out of the car Brett's already there, waiting. Ben looks at me, " Is your nose ok?" I look at him "Yea it's fi-" Brett cuts me off. "Don't talk to her." Ben walks inside and we follow. Ben walks into his room, I can tell he's upset. Brett and I sit down on the couch. Right as I sit down, "I'm hungry." I'm in no mood for his crap right now. "So?" I answer. He turns to me, "So, go get me something." I'm in such a bad mood right now. I cross my bruised arms and tell him "No." He looks at me stunned, he stands up, and I hear Ben walk out of his room, but I don't care. I just want Brett to leave, that won't happen. I know I'll regret saying no to him. "Yea." He says, I can tell he's going to hit me. He lefts his arm up and smacks it across my face. The right side of my face starts stinging and I can feel my eyes starting to water. I get up and start walking to the kitchen. He smiles and sits down. I look at Ben and he shoots me an are you ok? look and I just mouth "Don't worry." And walk into the kitchen. I sit down at the wooden table and sigh. I can still feel the stinging on my cheek. That pain takes my mind off my nose, neck and stomach. I'm just falling apart. I put my head in my hands. "What's taking you so long?" He yells from the living room. If he thinks I'm making something he's crazy. I grab a red apple from the table and bring it to him. "Here." I hand it to him. "Look, I'm tired can you please leave?" He looks at me and without saying a word, gets up, and slams the door so hard the house shakes. I start to walk to my room and Ben's standing in my doorway. "What do you wa-" He cuts me off when his lips meet mine. I push him away. I don't even know what just happened. "Sorry, I had to birthday girl." He smiles and walks past me into his room. I slowly walk into my room, sit down on my bed, and realize, Ben just kissed me.
