Run Daddy, Run.
Chapter One
“Ellie, Pass!” I shouted, dodging
and blocking other girls. Ellie passed the ball over. I stood on
the outside of the D, and passed to Lucy, who shot the ball into
the net. “Yeah!” I grinned, high- fiving Lucy. We had
won the game. “Alright girls, well done.” Said Coach
Parsons. “See you next Monday.” Me and Lucy jogged
back to the changing rooms. “Good game, we rocked
dude!” She turned to me and grinned. “Yeah, was
awesome,” I said, gathering my bags. “Seeya tomorrow,
love you.” I said, giving Lucy a hug. “Love you
too” She mumbled into my shoulder. I walked along the path,
leaves crunching beneath me. It was a lovely October’s day.
I looked around for my car, confused. I fumbled in my school bag
for my phone, calling my Mum. It dialled, but then I heard my
name being called. “Jazz! Jazz, we’re in
Sarah’s car, jump in.” My sister, Kate, belted out
from the old green car infront of my eyes. “Hey!” I
said, stepping into my auntie’s antique vehicle.
“Daff!” Charlie, my three year old cousin shouted in
my face. He called me Daff when he was a baby, instead of Jazz. I
gave him a little hug, and talked to Sarah. She asked me how my
day was, as we drove back home. “Great, we just won the
game. I think we’re in the finals now!” I said,
grinning. I loved netball. “My legs are aching though,
it’ll be a struggle to ballet later.” I said. I did
not love netball ask much I adored ballet. I had been doing it
for nine years. “Hm, I don’t think you’ll be
doing ballet tonight babe.” Sarah replied. “Why? Is
something happening?” I asked, curious. “Dad was
taken to hospital this morning. It’s nothing serious.
Mum’s up in the hospital, so I’ll be looking after
you. We’re gonna skip ballet tonight I think. Don’t
worry though gorgeous;
It’s going to be all right.”
But of course, it
wasn’t.
Just to add to this, this story is a true story. I thought
I would write about what's happened, everything. Thought
I'd get it off my chest. Do not read it if you're going
to leave comments saying this is stupid, or attention seeking. I
do not need that.
