Ok so
aparently according to the Police Department in my town it is
OK for a parent to
beat their child until he/she is bruised and bloody. The parent
won't get arrested, fined, or even a
verbal
warning. Instead, they will tell the beaten child "It is ok
for your dad to beat you, it is actually a good thing, it
diciplines you, teaches you how to be strong and take a
hit." They said exactly
that to my friend when his father beat him. I think it is totally
wrong that they won't do anything and they tell abused kids
that it is OK for their parent to abuse them, and unless
the abused kid
is in the hospital or has a broken bone, they won't do
anything about it.
THIS NEEDS TO CHANGE, IT IS
WRONG.

the police wouldn't say that..Sure, maybe they can't do anything about it unless it becomes serious, but they definitely would not say it is okay.

I am definitely in! That is so unbelievably wrong, I mean... I am just disgusted. revolted. I am completely speechless. It's just so wrong.

How do you think they disciplined children back then... My dad would get hit by his father whenever he did something wrong and so would my friend's parents. I'm not saying I'm not against child abuse, I'm saying that simply slapping a child because they did something wrong isn't child abuse. Repeatedly bruising a child for no apparent reason IS, however, child abuse.

Hi, umm well this post? It made me feel the need to sign in and comment on it. Okay, first off, I've been going through this whole child abuse part of my life for 8 years. I'm 15. Second, its not just your town. Nobody cares, not cps, not the police, not school. People really don't understand how screwed up the system it. My dad almost KILLED ME. I had his hand prints around my throat, all bruises. I went unconscious. The police came, and literally told me I was a stupid •ng 15 year old, and I deserved it. This ones for all the victims of child abuse, whose cries are unanswered. Thank you for trying to help change the system ... <3

Where on God's green earth do you live?!?!?! That is just despicable. I mean what is wrong with people these days. It seems like there is nobody you can trust.

Police/ Other people of authority: When you have a problem, come to us.
Police/Other people of authority: It's no big deal. Don't get so worked up.
Are you kidding me?!?!?!?! What type of society do we live in?!? I'm disgusted to be a part of it. Maybe I'm over-reacting but it seems to me that humanity keeps getting worse and worse.
