Locker Number 271
Chapter 1
I walked through the halls of my new
school.
It was so small.
The hallways were too skinny, and the lockers we had were only
half the size the ones I had at my old school.
I don't know about Chicago, but in Seattle, we had enough
money to give the students a full locker.
I sighed as I looked to see there was a dark-haired boy who was
cleaning out his locker...the one right above mine.
And it was filthy.
He had to bring over an entire garbage can just to clean it
out.
I walked towards my locker. He didn't even notice me
standing there.
I tried to be as nice as possible. After all, I was the new
girl, and I wanted to make a good impression.
"Hi, I'm new, and I think I have the locker under
yours."
The boy turned around.
"Hey."
He quickly resumed cleaning out his locker. I became
frustrated. My backpack was killing me. I had all my new books
in it.
"Excuse me. I kind of need to get into my
locker."
He turned around, with a careless expression.
"Go ahead then."
But he didn't move. I rolled my eyes. I gave up waiting and
got on my knees so I could try to open it.
I got the little piece of paper with my locker combination on
it that the main office gave me.
After about ten tries, I finally got my locker open.
"Yes!" I said quietly to myself, as I opened my
locker.
"Congratulations. You just failed a task a fifth grader
could make blindfolded." The boy said sarcastically.
"I'm sorry, do you have a problem with me?" I
said, finally losing my temper.
He laughed. "What's your name, newbie?"
"Anna. What's yours? Sarcastic jerk?" I
snapped.
"Ooo, newbie has a dark side." He teased. "But
you were close. My name is Chris."
I continued putting my books away, all the sudden I felt papers
fly down on top of me.
"Do you mind...?" I said.
"Actually yeah I do." Chris nodded, and contiued what
he was doing.
I slammed my locker.
"rascal." I said under my breath, hoping he would
would hear me as walked past him.
"Nice to meet you too!" I heard as I walked away.
I know its boring so far, but I'll add more.
