Still Beating
Chapter 4
My heart sunk as those words escaped his mouth I quickly looked at my uncovered shoulder to see nasty bruises covering it. I pulled up my hood and smiled lightly.
“Football, the guys get rough,” I lied easily.
He smiled back, “Uh well make sure they don’t hurt you too bad!”
“Of course!” I laughed!
He walked over and began to ask many questions about my mom but I slyly lied through it!
When he was all done he sighed, “We’ll make sure your mom gets better!”
He reached out his arm to pat me on the shoulder and that’s when I flinched in pain. He gave me a stern look.
“I’m going to have one of the paramedics check that out. The boys in football shouldn’t be playing that ruff and you should have come to the hospital after that! You could have just bruised it but no one knows for sure until you get it checked out!” He left with a fake smile.
My shoulder really did hurt but I was afraid the paramedics would figure out it was caused by my mom so when they came to check it out I used all my strength to act like it didn’t hurt, but in reality I was in agony. The paramedics didn’t do much they were to focused on my mom and believed me when I said it didn’t hurt, they barley even took a glimpse at it! I watched from my window as they pulled my mom into an ambulance. She was stretched out on a gurney and looked pretty beat up, but it was her fault she drunk herself into this mess. That afternoon my dad took me to the hospital to see my mom, she would be alright she just hit her head hard after her fall and had a concussion, and a bit of alcohol poisoning, but they cleared that up with a nice stomach pump and some medicines! They told me she would be in pain because of the stomach pump but I was happy about that that means she can’t hurt me until she gets better and I’d have some time to heal from her hitting me last night! That day was a real blur; I didn’t go to school and took naps whenever possible, I was hoping some of the bruises would go away by the morning but I was just dreaming so when I woke up the next morning I wasn’t surprised to still see them. I had to stay at my house for the next three days alone since my mom was still in the hospital but I didn’t mind much. I took a nice long shower then walked to the mirror that’s when I froze in
 fear!
I know its really short I wanted to do something to lead you onto a cliff hanger and not just answer it in this chapter and the clue I had last time wasn't used so I'm going to use it next chapter! :) Sorry again for the long wait but I was sick :(
