The Story Of Us
Prologue
 

Have you ever experienced that love at first sight feeling? Where you just look at someone... And suddenly all of the world's problems seem to go away? You're probably sitting there shaking your head and thinking Is this chick on something? And trust me, if I read this a year ago, I'd be right there with you. But... Then I met Aaron. And that's when everything changed.
I had just started freshman year at Saint Mary's school. I was the new kid, butting into a school where everyone had known each other since kindergarten. Scary, right? Yep. I already knew two girls, but they were really annoying and not the type I could survive the year with as my only friends. I was on the lookout from the start for new friends.
At the time, however, I had only been in school for a week, and hadn't had any real luck insta-bonding with anyone yet. That afternoon, I was planning on trying out for the school play, so I was hoping to meet some people that way. Unortunately, before the after-school tryouts, I had to survive through our school's monthly mass. The mass, I had heard, was two hours of torture, with our ancient preist and being forced to be silent the whole time. I was not looking forward to it, especially since the only people I had to sit next to were the only two girls I knew, Maria and Bethany.
As Maria, Bethany and I settled into our seats for the mass, I spotted someone. And not just a someone... A cute someone. He was sitting in the front row alone. I stared at the back of his head, questioning why he wasn't with the rest of the school. I was pretty sure he wasn't in my grade since I had never seen him before, but then again, I hadn't seen a lot of people. When the mass began and everyone began to quiet down, I saw him stand up, and go up and say the call to worship. I looked down at the program in my hands and saw that his name as Aaron Thomas. I tapped Maria on the shoulders and pointed at him.
"Who's that?" I asked her. She snickered and rolled her eyes.
"Aaron Thomas, the geek of the tenth grade," she said.
"He's cute," I said quietly. She gave me a wierd look, but didn't say anything else.
All during the mass, I thought about Aaron. He really was cute.. He was tallish, with hair that was shaggy and chocolate brown, hazel eyes, and tan skin. I couldn't tell whether he had abs or not because the school's uniform hid anything worth showing off, but I didn't really care whether he did or not. All I knew was that I wanted to get to know him.
After the longest two hours of my life, the mass finally ended, and we went back to homerooms to get ready for dissmissal. I tried to spot Aaron on the way back, but I couldn't see him. Sighing, I sulked back to my homeroom to pack up. I'd probably never see him again... Might as well forget about him.
Boy, if only I had known how wrong I was.
