part 23.
6 years later.
Leslie's POV
"I'm messing this up!!" Natalie sighed
stressfully, from behind me. I looked up at her through the
mirror.
"I think it looks fine.. you're doing a good job." I
smiled. She huffed, but continued.
"LESLIE!" Jamie squealed, sneaking through the door.
"way to be late." I sarcastically rolled my eyes.
"I blame John.." She sighed, rolling her eyes. She hung
up her coat and purse, then walked over to me and Natalie. They
both continued doing my hair as my mom and other friends were all
in the room talking to me.
"time to put the dress on!!" my aunt said walking in the
room with the bag. Everyone stood up and helped me into it.
"you look breath taking.." Natalie said, finishing one
last piece of my hair, then smiling.
"gorgeous.." Jamie smiled. I rolled my eyes, not taking
anyone elses complements well either. I asked everyone but Jamie to
go out and make sure everyone was here, and keep themselves busy,
since we were super duper early.
"is he here yet." I asked looking down at my dress.
"yup.." She said, nodding. Then went behind me and placed
my necklace around my neck and hooked it on for me.
"I don't understand either of you honestly..." She
sighed confused, as she straightened it out, and starred at me
through the huge mirror.
"I blame Jesse.." I laughed lightly.
"he.. wants to see you.. want me to go get him.." She
asked. I starred at her with wide eyes.
"I'll be in the room too stupid." she rolled her
eyes.
"please... I don't wanna be alone.. I'll flip out,
cry, and not marry Vincent." I said, as I felt my blood
pressure, and body temperature rise all at once just thinking about
Jesse. She left quickly, and I heard her heels echoing down the
hall as she hussled. I paced around with nerves, then slipped into
my heels to keep myself occupied as I waited. I stood on the
petistool, and spun around looking at me in the long, heavy,
sparkling white gown.
"knock.." Jesse laughed walking in. I rolled my eyes with
a chuckle.
"damn, you look gorgeous." He said with wide eyes, just
starring at me. I laughed and shrugged, and starred at my
reflection.
"take a compliment goof." He rolled his eyes.
"It's kind've hard when I'm not fully happy with
everything.." I said under my breath.
"I'm not happy with it either, but there isn't much we
can do about it." He sighed.
"you could've fought for me a little, talked to my
parents, talked to Xavier, but no. You just let me slip away
without saying a word. You let my parents win, and now look where
we are." I nearly screamed. I heard the whole church grow
quiet.
"calm down.." he whispered.
"kind've hard to do when the guy I love more than my
fiance doesn't love me back, and I can't get over him for
the life of me." I said and then stormed out of the room.
"Leslie!" Jamie scolded in a whisper.
"What" I said about to cry.
"you better not cry.." she scolded again, as we heard the
choir singing and the pastor making his speech.
"I can't do this.." I said and ran down the stairs to
the back of the church and walked outside, and started walking
through the parking lot. I heard the door quickly close, and
footsteps running after me.
"you are not gunna be a run away bride just because of
me.." Jesse sighed, standing infront of me.
"that should be you, with all of your best men in there, and
waiting for me down that aisle, NOT Vinny." I said firmly.
"I think we both know that, but we both also know that your
parents, nor your whole family would allow that.." he
sighed.
"you think I care? if they don't respect who I love and
want to spend the rest of my life with, then I shouldn't call
them my family, let alone my parents." I sighed.
"well, I'm not going to be the reason why my wife
doesn't have any contact with her family. I want a family
blessing if I marry someone.. you hear what they say about me, and
to me whenever we're in the same room.. they say it right
infront of me." He said stressfully.
"your family loves Vinny, you love Vinny, go marry him. You
must love him if you agreed to marry him... yah goof.." he
smiled amusedly. I rolled my eyes, a smile slowly appearing. He
chuckled, then we jogged to the front of the church and he made it
just in time to walk in with the rest of Vinny's best men, and
I walked over to my bridesmaids.
"you ok?" Jamie whispered. I nodded quickly, then we
walked upstairs and they started walking in. My dad walked up next
to me, and linked arms with me.
"you don't like Vinny... do you..." he said slowly,
and heart broken.
"I do.." I lied, trying to sound convincing.
"I saw you with..... Jesse." He said, sounding like it
took everything he had in him to speak his name.
"you did.." I asked shyly.
"mhm, if you liked him so much, then why didn't you fight
us about it, me and your mother would've gotten over it, and
dealt with him after awhile.." He shrugged.
"because, I was so tired of the fighting that was already
going on with Xavier, and you and mom that I just couldn't take
anymore, let alone want to start more fights about Jesse.." I
explained. He just nodded slowly, then It was our turn to walk in,
and I held my breath. We walked in slowly. He walked me up next to
Vinny as my mind went racing about him, my parents, and Jesse. I
sighed and he took my hands, and rubbed them with his thumb as we
concentrated on the priest.
